Abstract: A terminal location estimation method in a wireless communication system in which an access point (AP) provides an access service to a plurality of terminals includes defining a plurality of beam spaces around the AP through space multiplexing; scheduling the beam spaces according to a predetermined pattern; simultaneously forming a beam in at least one beam space; and detecting the existence and location of a terminal according to whether a response message in response to the formed beam is received. Accordingly, an AP forms beams in a predetermined scheduling pattern, and each of the terminals detecting the beams registers its location by informing the AP that each of the terminals exists in a relevant beam area, and thus, a location of each of the terminals can be estimated without using a complex DOA algorithm.

Abstract: Disclosed is a frame transmission method using precoding for supporting MU-MIMO, which facilitates to reduce overhead of a downlink frame in a wireless communication system of FDD method, and a base station supporting that method. The frame transmission method comprises calculating a precoding matrix of a present frame based on channel state information (CSI) of each mobile station and a precoding matrix of a prior frame; precoding a dedicated pilot and downlink data to be transmitted to the mobile station by the use of precoding matrix of the present frame; and transmitting a downlink frame including the precoded dedicated pilot and precoded downlink data to the corresponding mobile station.

Abstract: A method is provided for displaying a message in a mobile communication terminal. According to one example, the method includes the steps of receiving a first message, displaying the first message on a first display of the terminal, and displaying a message preparation window on a second display of the terminal simultaneously with the display of the first message. Since the terminal user can prepare a response text message to a received text message while viewing the received text message, the preparation of the response text message can be more conveniently achieved.

In one embodiment, the apparatus, system, and method comprise requesting a web page from a web server, wherein requesting a web page from a web server comprises sending a browser parameter comprising an indicator to the web server, the indicator indicating that a browser is capable of receiving an archive. The present invention may further comprise receiving one or more archives from the web server, the one or more archives each comprising a plurality of archivable objects referenced by the web page, and rendering the web page using the plurality of archivable objects from the one or more archives.

Abstract: Provided is a flash memory system supporting flash defragmentation. The flash memory system includes a host and a flash storage device. In response to a flash defragmentation command by the host, the flash storage device performs flash defragmentation by grouping fragments stored in fragmented blocks of a flash memory on a flash memory management unit basis. The flash memory management unit may be a memory block or page. The flash storage device performs the flash defragmentation regardless of the arrangement order of fragmented files stored in the flash memory.

The method includes running the application in a main running environment and at least one shadow environment, the shadow environment obtained by duplicating the main running environment; and the main running environment interacting with the shadow environment with respect to the fault of the application. The method includes performing the steps of the main running environment: monitoring the exceptions in the system and sending system exception information to the shadow environment in the event of finding exceptions in the system. The shadow environment: receives the system exception information, opens diagnostic log/trace functions to obtain diagnosis log/trace files related to the system exceptions, and analyzes the diagnosis result based on the obtained diagnosis log/trace files.

Abstract: A method of informing occurrence of an event and a mobile terminal using the same are disclosed. The method includes: determining whether a missed event occurs; sensing a user's attention to the mobile terminal; and informing the occurrence of the missed event when the user's attention is sensed. Since the mobile terminal informs the occurrence of the missed event only when the user gives attention to his/her mobile terminal, the number of times for informing the missed event is reduced and damage of people around the mobile terminal and power consumption of the mobile terminal caused by sound or vibration of informing the occurrence of the event can be minimized.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for estimating available throughput of a fixed node in a mobile node of a communication network. The communication network includes fixed nodes connected to a router connected to at least one foreign network and mobile nodes connected to the fixed nodes. A second mobile node is selected from among mobile nodes connected to a fixed node whose available throughput is estimated in a first mobile node. An idle slot interval of the second mobile node connected to the fixed node is set. A transmission probability is measured in one slot interval of the second mobile node through an average of set idle slot intervals. Transmission information of the second mobile node is acquired using the measured transmission probability. The available throughput of the fixed node is estimated using the acquired transmission information.

Abstract: A data transceiver and a data reception method for reducing power consumption in a mobile communication system are provided. The data transceiver includes a transmitter which transmits a plurality of data frames during a predetermined transmission period; and a receiver which receives data frames in the predetermined transmission period, if the transmission period is allowed and monitors with minimal operation power whether data transmission is in progress or completed in the transmission period, if the transmission period is not allowed.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for operating an Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) in consideration of an operation state of a Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) in a wireless communication system. In the method, when an an ARQ timer expires, operation state information of a HARQ module for controlling a HARQ is determined. Whether to delay generation of Negative ACKnowledge (NACK) information in consideration of the operation state information of the HARQ module, then determined. When determining to delay the generation of the NACK information, the generation of the NACK information is delayed for a delay time determined in consideration of the operation state information of the HARQ module.

Abstract: A method for controlling display of a web page on the client, the contents in said web page being assigned different priorities, includes sending an access request for the web page from the client to the server; in response to said access request, the server sending controllers for implementing prioritization of said contents in the web page to the client, and the controllers retrieving the web page contents the server according to the priority order thereof for display. With the system and method, it is possible to prioritize different contents in a web page and to ensure contents with higher priority are downloaded and displayed earlier than those with lower priority, and thereby avoiding the disadvantage of multi-thread parallel download in the prior art.

Abstract: Provided is a portable terminal providing environment adapted to a current situation and a method for operating the same. The method includes the steps of: collecting current situation information of the portable terminal; searching preset situation information classified as a same situation as the current situation information; extracting function information of the portable terminal corresponding to the searched preset situation information; and constituting a Graphic User Interface (GUI) according to the extracted function information.

Abstract: A portable terminal reflecting a user's environment and a method for operating the same are disclosed. The method includes: generating usage pattern information that contains pattern environment information of the portable terminal and function information corresponding to the pattern environment information; collecting current environment information of the portable terminal; searching for pattern environment information that substantially identical to the collected current environment information; extracting function information corresponding to the searched pattern environment information; and configuring a graphic user interface (GUI) based on the extracted function information.
