    Abstract: A coordinator switching method and corresponding apparatus (20) are provided. One or more candidate coordinators (64) to replace a coordinator (20) of a medical body area network (MBAN) (22) are identified. The coordinator (20) is associated with one or more devices (16, 18) of the MBAN (22). One of the identified candidate coordinators (64) is selected as a destination coordinator. The destination coordinator (64) is requested to replace the coordinator (20) and allocate resources for the devices (16, 18). Acceptance of the request and data identifying the allocated resources for the devices (16, 18) is received from the destination coordinator (64). The devices (16, 18) are instructed to associate with the destination coordinator (64) using the allocated resources.

    Abstract: A medical system includes one or more medical body area network (MBAN) systems. Each MBAN system including one or more MBAN devices which acquire and communicate patient data via a hub device via a short-range wireless communication channel. The communication of the patient data via the short-range wireless communication channel within a predefined spectra. One of the spectra being a spectrum belonging to a third party primary user. The hub device receives patient data communicated from the one or more MBAN devices and communicates with a central monitoring station via a longer range communication. In response to the third party primary user requesting the third party primary user spectrum, the hub device reallocates to other spectra based on a priority of an acuity level of services communicated by each hub device.

    Abstract: A dialog system for use in a multi-user, multi-domain environment. The dialog system understands user requests when multiple users are interacting with each other as well as the dialog system. The dialog system uses multi-human conversational context to improve domain detection. Using interactions between multiple users allows the dialog system to better interpret machine directed conversational inputs in multi-user conversational systems. The dialog system employs topic segmentation to chunk conversations for determining context boundaries. Using general topic segmentation methods, as well as the specific domain detector trained with conversational inputs collected by a single user system, allows the dialog system to better determine the relevant context. The use of conversational context helps reduce the domain detection error rate, especially in certain domains, and allows for better interactions with users when the machine addressed turns are not recognized or are ambiguous.

The method includes: extracting moving objects and moving tracks of the moving objects from an original video; calculating a spatio-temporal redundancy between the extracted moving tracks, and determining a synopsis ratio of the moving tracks according to the spatio-temporal redundancy; and changing rates of the moving tracks according to the synopsis ratio of the moving tracks. In the present invention, the spatio-temporal redundancy between the moving tracks is analyzed, and synopsis and rate changing are performed on corresponding tracks according to the spatio-temporal redundancy obtained by means of analysis to obtain different representations of different tracks, thereby improving user experience.

A computer may detect an actor's face appearing in a frame of digital video data by processing the video file with a facial detection algorithm. A user-selectable link may be generated and activated along a track of the face through multiple frames of the video data. The user-selectable link may include a data address for obtaining additional information about an actor identified with the face. The video data may be associated with the user-selectable link and stored in a computer memory. When later viewing the video segment via a media player, a user may select the link to obtain further information about the actor.

    Abstract: A method for fabricating thin film solar cells for a concentrated photovoltaic system uses three shadow masks. The first mask, used to deposit a back contact layer, has multiple horizontal and vertical lines defining columns and rows of cells, and multiple tabs each located in a cell along a center of a vertical border. The second mask, used to deposit a CIGS absorption layer, a window layer and a transparent contact layer, is similar to the first mask except the tabs are located along the opposite vertical border of the cells. The third mask, used to deposit a metal grid layer, has multiple bus bar openings and finger openings. Each bus bar opening is located along a horizontal center line of a cell and overlaps the second tab of a neighboring cell. The cells in a horizontal row are connected in series, forming a linear solar receiver.
