  • Patent number: 7868865
Abstract: An organic electroluminescence display and a method of operating the organic electroluminescence display are disclosed. A pixel array unit, including a plurality of pixels, is divided into at least two pixel groups adjacent to each other. The first pixel group is selected by a first scan driving unit and the second pixel group is selected by a second scan driving unit. Scanning lines for selecting the first pixel group extend into the first pixel group and scanning lines for selecting the second pixel group extend into the second pixel group. Accordingly, each scanning line is reduced in length and thus impedance of the scanning line is decreased. The reduction of impedance prevents delay or distortion of scan signals.

  • Patent number: 7782277
Abstract: A display device and a demultiplexer. A display device includes plural pixels for displaying an image corresponding to first data currents, each pixel including plural sub-pixels. The display device also includes plural scan lines for applying scan signals to the pixels; plural first data lines for applying the first data currents to the pixels; a scan driver for outputting the scan signals to the scan lines; a demultiplexer including plural demultiplexing circuits; and a data driver for transmitting second data currents to plural second data lines. The demultiplexing circuits demultiplex second data currents into first data currents, and transmit the first data currents to the first data lines. A pre-charge voltage is applied to the first data lines before the first data currents are transmitted. This way, the data driver is simplified, and the first data lines are pre-charged with a suitable voltage before programming data, thereby reducing programming time.

  • Patent number: 7738512
Abstract: Disclosed is a display device using a demultiplexer. The demultiplexer sequentially samples the data current that is time-divided and applied by a data driver, and holds it to the data lines. Since the demultiplexer is to sample the data currents corresponding to N data lines during one horizontal period when performing 1:N demultiplexing, the data current corresponding to one data line is sampled during the 1/N horizontal period. In the present invention, a signal line coupled between the demultiplexer and the data driver is precharged with the current before coupling a precharge circuit to a sample/hold circuit and sampling the data current. The precharge current is M times the data current where M is a real number greater than 1.
