    Abstract: An electronic device can include housing with first and second housing portions configured to rotate relative to one another about a hinge, a hinge angle encoder that rotates with the hinge, an emitter that emits light towards the hinge angle encoder, and a sensor die that receives light reflecting back from the hinge angle encoder. The hinge angle encoder may include an absorptive polarizing filter layer and a reflective diffuser layer. A pixelated polarizer may be formed overlapping an array of photodetectors in the sensor die. The electronic device may include processing circuitry configured to compute a hinge angle by which the first and second housing portions are rotated based on one or more intensity values acquired using the array of photodetectors.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a short control signaling transmission for sidelink communication in an unlicensed spectrum. According to one aspect of the present disclosure, if a control signaling is to be transmitted to a second device via a short control signaling transmission, a first device determines whether the short control signaling transmission is available based on at least information related to a counter, the counter being used for counting occasions within a period for the short control signaling transmission at a sidelink interface. If the short control signaling transmission is available, the first device transmits the control signaling to the second device on a first resource configured for the short control signaling transmission. In this way, constraints for the usage of the short control signaling transmission can be satisfied, and a reliable transmission of sidelink control signaling in the unlicensed spectrum can be achieved.

The system includes: an host computer system calculating spatial movement data and communicating with a slave computer; a spatial movement system realizing control of any spatial position through circumferential movement, radial movement and vertical movement; a real-time three-dimensional display system built into the host computer system; an audio system randomly generates a type of audio data of a sound source and a sound source with equal-difference decibels; and a test system for matching human spatial positioning results to sound source spatial data and providing an objective evaluation. The invention further provides a method of providing a parametric minimum audible angle for a capability of auditory spatial positioning, the invention improves the control accuracy.

The emitters may be activated sequentially to produce multiple images that are combined to reconstruct an accurate reading of the color-encoded tag, which can then be used to identify the type of external item currently attached to the electronic device.

    Abstract: An electronic device may have an ambient light sensor for gathering ambient light measurements. The ambient light sensor may include multiple channels for measuring different wavelengths of ambient light. An additional, modified, channel may be formed in the ambient light sensor to measure radio-frequency signals that may interfere with the ambient light measurements due to electromagnetic interference. Alternatively, circuitry separate from the ambient light sensor, such as an antenna, may measure the radio-frequency signals. If the radio-frequency signals exceed a threshold, the ambient light sensor measurements taken in the presence of the radio-frequency signals may be discarded or corrected. If the radio-frequency signals do not exceed a threshold, the ambient light sensor measurements may be kept. Therefore, the ambient light measurements that are kept and relied upon by the electronic device may be free from electromagnetic interference.

In one aspect, a wireless device receives a paging message from a cellular network, via a wireless link between the wireless device and a companion device. The paging message can be received while a cellular modem of the wireless device is operating in reduced power mode and not registered with the cellular network, and the companion device is registered with the cellular network. The wireless device can transition the cellular modem from the reduced power mode to an active mode in response to receiving the paging message via the wireless link with the companion device. The wireless device can register with the cellular network after the modem has transitioned to active mode, to establish a cellular link directly with the cellular network.
