  • Publication number: 20090182223
Abstract: A method for automatically selecting a region of interest covering a heated area, in the context of high intensity focused ultrasonic technology achieves automatic selection of the region of interest on the basis of the phase recognition completed in a magnetic resonance data acquisition and the position of the focus of a focused ultrasonic sensor. The method includes the steps of acquiring the phase data of a scanned area during a scanning process, then determining a heated area in the scanned area according to the phase data acquired; and in a displayed image acquired by the image reconstruction, demarcating a region of interest covering the heated area according to a predetermined size of said region of interest that covers and is larger than the heated area.

  • Patent number: 7521930
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for accelerating MR temperature imaging used in MR-monitored high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy, temperature changes are determined at the focus of the ultrasound during MR temperature imaging; determining the ideal acceleration rate needed for data sampling according to the temperature changes at said focus is determined, the variable-density (VD) data sampling in k-space is adjusted according to the determined ideal acceleration rate, and the data obtained from sampling are reconstructed to form an image. The capability of accelerating MR temperature imaging with both good temporal resolution and good spatial resolution is improved by determining the acceleration rate according to temperature changes at the ultrasound focus and by adjusting the VD data sampling of k-space and thereby the benefits of good flexibility, feasibility and stability are achieved.

  • Patent number: 7317333
Abstract: A pre-driver for large I/O pull-up and pull-down transistors is provided so that the I/O pull-up and pull-down transistors do not experience crowbar current, and the pre-driver circuit likewise does not experience crowbar current or require large driver transistors. One pre-driver circuit includes two NAND gates and two NOR gates with delay circuitry provided by two series inverters from a data input to a first node, and two additional series inverters from the first node to a second node. A further pre-driver circuit includes feedback from the pre-driver outputs to ensure its NMOS and PMOS transistors do not turn on together to create crowbar, while allowing faster switching. With the pre-driver circuit embodiments, a conventional level shifter can be used. Further with the pre-driver circuitry, slew rate control can be provided in the pull-up and pull-down driver circuitry, rather than in the pre-driver circuitry.

  • Patent number: 7236004
Abstract: Apparatus and method for providing reference voltages for differential signaling with tracking of output differential voltage relative to output offset voltage are described. A swing reference voltage, an offset reference voltage, a swing feedback voltage, and an offset feedback voltage are obtained. Differences between pairs of these voltages are differentially amplified to produce first and second bias voltages. Pull-up and pull-down voltages are driven partially responsive to the first bias voltage and the second bias voltage to provide first and second control voltages. The first control voltage may be provided to a first resistance for the driving of the first pull-up and pull-down voltages. The second control voltage may be provided to a second resistance for the driving of the second pull-up and pull-down voltages. The first control voltage and the second control voltage may be provided to a third resistance.

  • Patent number: 7212060
Abstract: A test-mode circuit allows the same pad of a semiconductor device to be used as a test pad during test operations and as an I/O pad during normal operations. The test-mode circuit is coupled between the pad and a reference signal (Vbg) of the device, and in response to a control signal (CTRL1) either couples the pad and the reference signal (Vbg) together or isolates the pad and the reference signal (Vbg) from each other. The test-mode circuit includes at least one NMOS transistor (MN1) and a PMOS transistor (MP1) connected in series between the pad and the reference signal (Vbg). During normal operation, the NMOS transistor (MN1) isolates the reference signal (Vbg) from the pad, and the PMOS transistor (MP1) compensates for voltage undershoot conditions at the pad.

  • Publication number: 20060265712
Abstract: As mobile handsets are typically much slower than desktops for processing intensive applications, and as XSL-based XML document transformations (or XSLT) are processing intensive, such transformations are costly on mobile devices both because of execution time and energy consumption. While other processing intensive applications, such as voice communication and graphics rendering, have exploited options in the design of mobile processor architecture, similar methodologies have not been applied to XSLT processing. A method for parallelizing XSLT processing on devices with multiple processors is therefore devised. The method divides XSLT processing into separately schedulable subtasks, synchronizes these subtasks, and schedules such subtasks on multiple processors for improved time and energy efficiency.
