  • Publication number: 20110311235
Abstract: A burst transmission method and a receiver resetting method and apparatus in a Passive Optical Network (PON) are provided. A burst receiver resetting method in a PON includes: receiving a preamble sequence and synchronizing data; after synchronizing the data, continuing to receive the data, and matching a Burst Terminator (BT); and resetting a receiver after successfully matching the BT. Meanwhile, an apparatus for implementing the method and a corresponding burst data transmission method are provided. By using the burst receiver resetting method and apparatus in the PON and the corresponding burst transmission method at an Optical Network Unit (ONU) burst transmission end, a Reach Extender (RE) does not need to unpack upstream burst bandwidth allocation information carried in downstream data. Therefore, the complexity of the implementation of the RE is reduced, and the method is simple and effective.

  • Publication number: 20100223535
Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a data coding method. In this data coding method, a synchronization header is added to the data that has undergone line coding and FEC coding, and then the data is framed and sent out. The embodiments of the present invention also provide the corresponding data decoding method, data coding apparatus, and data decoding apparatus. Because the redundant information for synchronization is added, the synchronization performance of the transmission system is ensured effectively even if the algorithm selected in the line coding provides low redundancy; moreover, the added synchronization header does not participate in the FEC coding calculation, thus preventing impact on the FEC coding gain.

  • Publication number: 20100070822
Abstract: The present invention relates to the communication field, and discloses a method and an apparatus for encoding, decoding, receiving and transmitting data to improve the encoding gain of the FEC encoding without increasing transmission overhead. In the present invention, no FEC encoding is performed for the minor bits in the block header of the information blocks. The block header may be a sync header. The bit indicative of the data type serves as a major bit, and is protected through FEC encoding; the bit for the only purpose of block synchronization serves as a minor bit, which is not involved in the FEC encoding and decoding. When the buffered data are deficient, padding blocks are padded into the buffer to trigger the FEC encoding in time; after the FEC encoding, the padding block is removed from the encoding result, thus avoiding transmission of unnecessary data.
