  • Publication number: 20100098927
Abstract: Systems and methods for the reduction of volatile component content from shaped prepregs and prepreg layups and the layups and composites formed therefrom are disclosed. One or more shaped prepregs or prepreg layups are placed within an enclosure and a flow of a non-condensing gas is introduced adjacent at least one surface of the shaped prepregs or prepreg layups, accelerating the rate and/or the completeness of removal of volatile components from the shaped prepregs or prepreg layups. The shaped prepregs or prepreg layups may be further subjected to heat, vacuum, and external pressure to facilitate removal of the volatile components. Shaped prepregs and prepreg layups with volatiles reduced in this manner may be further consolidated with heat, external pressure and/or vacuum. Beneficially, reduced matrix bleed and reduced fiber movement may be achieved during processing, reducing manufacturing time and improving part quality.

  • Patent number: 7698477
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided wherein a central Credit Controller Entity (CCE) is connected to a PCIE fabric environment by means of several buses. Flow Control information sent to the CCE over two of the buses indicates the buffer storage capacity that is available at respective Receiver components in the PCIE fabric. The CCE processes the Flow Control information, to generate updates that are sent by a third bus to Transmitter components corresponding to the Receivers. In one useful embodiment, directed to a method of Flow Control management, the CCE provides a repository adapted to store credit count information that represents the available storage capacity of respective Receivers. The method further comprises routing further credit count information from a given Receiver to the CCE, for storage in the repository, following each of successive events that affect the storage capacity of the given Receiver.

  • Publication number: 20070297560
Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments a method and system to analyze the content of a packed bag utilizing a scanner is provided. The bag is scanned for a scannable characteristic to acquire scan data representative of a content of the piece of baggage. A volumetric data set is generated from the scan data, wherein the volumetric data set includes voxel values of the scannable characteristic throughout a volume of interest in the baggage. A rendered view is produced of the content of the piece of baggage based on the voxel values within a selected range from the volumetric data set. The method and system also provide identifying a threat by analyzing Hounsfield Units of the material of interest.

  • Publication number: 20070123829
Abstract: A medication injector apparatus such as an injection pen. The injection pen includes a resettable, cartridge plunger drive assembly including an axially floating nut, a cartridge plunger engaging screw, and a drive clutch movable with the nut and which when rotated causes the screw to screw through the nut. When a cartridge assembly is mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are shifted proximally such that the drive clutch is in torque transmitting engagement with a rotatable drive member of the pen, such that rotation of that drive member results in drive screw advancement through the nut in the distal direction. When the cartridge assembly is not mounted to the pen base, the floating nut and drive clutch are biased distally to disengage the drive clutch from torque transmitting engagement with the rotatable drive member and to thereby allow the drive screw to be reset proximally through the nut to a position more retracted within the pen base.

  • Publication number: 20060248743
Abstract: A tubing counter for counting coiled tubing inserted into a well includes an outer housing having a through passage for receiving the coiled tubing therethrough. In some embodiments, pressure rated connectors at both of the ends of the outer housing sealably connect the outer housing in series between the coiled tubing injector head and the outer casing of the well. A plurality of counting wheels are rotatably supported within the outer housing for rolling engagement along coiled tubing inserted through the outer housing while a counting mechanism records a number of rotations of each counting wheel independently of the other wheels to minimize counting errors. Locating the counter below the injector head and below the tubing stripper ensures that the tubing is cleaner and less likely to slip in contact with the counting wheels while also accounting for stretching of the tubing for more accurate measurement.

  • Publication number: 20030186759
Abstract: The invention provides a golf club, a putter, wherein a shaft is fixed within a large diameter grip by means of inserts which are in the form of weighting elements. In one embodiment the weighting element is in the form of an end cap at the end of the grip thereby forming a balancing moment to counter the force acting at impact. In another embodiment weighting elements are provided at both ends of the grip to provide a “high-inertia” grip.

  • Patent number: 6540622
Abstract: A golf putter is provided. The putter is made of a substantially large (between 25 and 45 mm diameter) parallel thin walled shaft wherein part of the bare shaft forms the grip. A protruding curved end cap forms part of the grip to assist in consistency of positioning the hands when taking a grip of the putter. A thin walled end plate closes off the shaft to the putter head all being designed to maximize “feel” when strokiing the ball.

  • Patent number: 6517447
Abstract: A golf putter is provided. The golf putter includes a head having a cavity. An insert member is supported within the cavity by Neoprene resilient O-rings and a shaft or hosel member is connected to the insert. Because the insert member is insulated from the head by the resilient O-rings, less impact energy is dissipated within the head. The insert member is arranged to be at the sweet spot of the head.
