  • Patent number: 9481202
Abstract: A bicycle wheel is disclosed having a spoke, a nipple coupled to the spoke, and a rim coupled to the nipple and having an annular panel with inner and outer surfaces and an access hole. A plug is positioned over the access hole and includes a cap that is larger than the access hole, a leg extending from the cap and through the access hole, and a barb protruding radially from the leg to at least partially engage the inner surface of the annular panel. The plug can further include a resilient member compressed between the cap and the outer surface of the annular panel. On some rims, the annular panel has a non-planar contour. For these rims, the resilient member and/or the cap can be shaped to match the non-planar contour of the annular panel.

  • Patent number: 8657639
Abstract: A water sport flotation device having an upper surface directed toward a user, an opposing bottom surface directed toward the water, and a pair of stabilizing fins, each fin having a top portion and a bottom edge. The flotation device further including a plurality of longitudinally disposed through slots in the upper surface and bottom surface, each slot partially surrounding each fin, and a flexible, resilient biasing means attached to the top portion of each fin and affixed to the upper surface so that the biasing means applies a downward force on each fin. The biasing means allows the bottom edge of the fin to retract through the slot and parallel to the bottom surface, if necessary, if the flotation device encounters an object in the water.

  • Patent number: 8573111
Abstract: A load sense connection is provided between the implement rockshaft cylinders and the load-sensed power source. However, to avoid tractor starting difficulty, a valve structure is provided in the power beyond fluid line to keep the fluid line closed when starting the tractor. This valve structure provides a hydraulic latching function that allows the load-sensed power source to be activated and deactivated depending on the SCV function. The load-sensed power source is activated when the rockshaft cylinder(s) is fully extended and remains activated or latched when the SCV is returned to neutral. The load-sensed power source is deactivated or unlatched when the rockshaft cylinder is retracted.

  • Publication number: 20130212574
Abstract: A sub-device agent running on a network device provides tools for detecting and managing sub-devices connected to the network device. The sub-device agent reports the presence of the sub-devices to a configuration manager, which provides a user interface for managing the sub-devices. The sub-devices are not directly detectable by or visible to the configuration manager. The sub-device agent provides access to the sub-devices for monitoring, configuring, updating, etc. The sub-device agent may be used to install or upgrade firmware or software on the sub-device or to monitor a status of the sub-device. Sub-device modules, such as OEM plug-ins and drivers, may be used by the sub-device agent to discover and manage the sub-devices.

  • Publication number: 20120294114
Abstract: Sensor and communications systems are disclosed for communicating measurements from subsea equipment, such as at an offshore well, to the surface. A sensor for a physical parameter, such as pressure or temperature at a blowout preventer, capping stack, or conduit in communication with the same, is electrically connected to a subsea acoustic transponder. An acoustic communications device, for example an acoustic transducer and transceiver electronics deployed on a remotely-operated vehicle, interrogates the acoustic transponder with an acoustic signal, in response to which the acoustic transponder transmits an acoustic signal encoded with the measurement. The acquired measurement data are then communicated to a redundant network at the surface. The sensor and acoustic transponder systems can be installed after an event at the subsea equipment, such as blowout of the well.
