  • Publication number: 20200146867
Abstract: A spinal orthosis includes a rear panel, and first and second belt members securing to the rear panel. The first and second belt members each define a first end secured to a first side of the rear panel and a second end having a foldable portion adapted to fold over a first surface of the first and second belt members and secure to the first surface to reduce a length of the first and second belt members. First and second front closures are secured to the second ends of the first and second belt members, respectively, and arranged for removably securing to one another to form a continuously circumferential loop with the rear panel and the first and second belt members. A kit or method may be provided for sizing the belt members with a sizing device for forming a predetermined distance between the first and second belt members.

  • Patent number: 10426647
Abstract: An orthopedic device includes a footplate defining opposing first and second sides and an upright support having a distal portion connected to the first side of the footplate. A motion control system controls movement of the second side of the footplate by anchoring at least one tensioning element to the second side of the footplate at a first guide while guiding the at least one tensioning element above the footplate through a second guide on an upper anchor element. The at least one tensioning element is arranged to allow movement of the second side of the footplate in a direction away from the upper anchor element until the at least one tensioning element becomes taut and to slide through the first and second guides when a proximal portion of the upright support moves toward and away from an anterior end of the footplate.

  • Publication number: 20190091094
Abstract: A body interface comprises a panel, and a lumbar support and may be configured to attach to an exoskeleton such as a leg/hip assist mechanism. The body interface has an adjustable tension provided by either a tensioning device or by the properties of materials in the panel and the lumbar support. Tension in the body interface allows the lumbar support to comfortably and dynamically contact a user's body while the panel cooperates with the leg/hip assist mechanism. First and second arms may extend from lateral portions of the panel to define with first and second belt members a circumference around the user.

  • Patent number: 10182957
Abstract: A CPM device includes a support structure arranged to be removably attached to an articulating brace supporting a limb and a joint of a user. One or more rotating members are rotatably connected to the support structure. The rotating members are adapted to contact and roll on an underlying surface that is separate from the CPM device. At least one motor is arranged to apply a torque to the rotating members such that the rotating members roll on the underlying surface. The rolling of the rotating members on the underlying surface causes the support structure to translate over the underlying surface, which, in turn, conveys a bending force to the joint.
