  • Patent number: 10756482
Abstract: A coupling can include a barrel that includes a communication pathway, such as an electrical contact or optical pathway. The coupling can include a nut that is configured to engage with a corresponding portion of a mating connector, such as via a threaded connection. When the coupling and the mating connector are engaged, the nut secures the coupling and the mating connector together, and respective termination elements of the coupling and the mating connector are in communication with each other. The coupling can include a torque-limiting mechanism. The torque-limiting mechanism can be configured to enable the transmission of torque up to a limit amount, and to inhibit or prevent the transmission of torque above the limit amount.

  • Publication number: 20200238668
Abstract: An interlayer structure having a cellulose ester layer for use in bilayer laminates is described herein. The cellulose ester layer provides rigidity and support to multilayer interlayers comprising an array of different layers. Due to the diverse properties of the cellulose ester layers, the present interlayers can be useful in producing structural laminates having high stiffness and which possess good optical clarity for a variety of applications, including outdoor structural applications and HMI devices.

  • Patent number: 10713858
Abstract: An air flow hour meter is provided. The air flow hour meter includes a passage configured to receive a pressurized fluid flow therethrough. An obstruction in the passage can be positioned in the fluid flow. A sensor in communication with the fluid flow can be configured to measure a pressure differential of the fluid flow between a first point and a second point of the passage. A microprocessor can be configured to calculate the signal-to-noise ratio of the sensor, and a timer can be configured to activate when the signal-to-noise ratio falls below a predetermined limit and otherwise deactivate.

  • Patent number: 10645156
Abstract: A method and system for distributed spatial control of a formation of vehicles includes receiving at a first formation vehicle via a peer-to-peer communication interface, direction of travel and formation density information that indicate a course of travel for the first vehicle while travelling as a member of the formation of vehicles. The peer-to-peer formation density information indicates a distance to maintain from other neighboring formation vehicles. A formation vehicle self-navigation command is generated for navigating the first vehicle when travelling in one dimensional, two dimensional, or three dimensional space as a member of the formation of vehicles. The self-navigation command is based on the peer-to-peer direction of travel and formation density information. The direction of travel information is based on locally determined spatial relationships of a portion of the formation of vehicles.

  • Patent number: 10554786
Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device can be configured to monitor environmental, system and user events associated with the mobile device and/or a peer device. The occurrence of one or more events can trigger adjustments to system settings. The mobile device can be configured to keep frequently invoked applications up to date based on a forecast of predicted invocations by the user. In some implementations, the mobile device can receive push notifications associated with applications that indicate that new content is available for the applications to download. The mobile device can launch the applications associated with the push notifications in the background and download the new content. In some implementations, before running an application or communicating with a peer device, the mobile device can be configured to check energy and data budgets and environmental conditions of the mobile device and/or a peer device to ensure a high quality user experience.

  • Patent number: 10506522
Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device can analyze motion sensor data and proximity sensor data during a voice call to determine whether the mobile device is on a stationary object or worn on a user's body (e.g., in the lap or pocket of a user of the mobile device). The mobile device can adjust the transmit power level of the telephony transceiver during the voice call based on the determination.

  • Publication number: 20190266593
Abstract: This application relates to systems, methods, and apparatus for using a computing device to perform payment transactions while the computing device is operating in a low power wallet mode during a low battery state of the computing device. During a low power wallet mode, various subsystems are prevented from receiving current from a battery of the computing device, while a near field communication (NFC) system of the computing device is provided with an operating current for detecting target systems. A target system and the NFC system can communicate during the low power wallet mode of the computing device, thereby allowing a user of the computing device to conduct payment transactions when the computing device is in a low power wallet mode. Such payment transactions can be useful if the user is ever stranded without enough power to fully operate the computing device and needs to pay for transportation.
