Patent number: 8124868Abstract: The present invention provides a thin film photovoltaic module that has a protective substrate, such as glass, that has been contoured to define a space that allows air to avoid entrapment by a bus bar on the thin film photovoltaic device. The contouring of the protective substrate greatly facilitates the deairing and lamination of the module because it reduces or eliminates the amount of trapped air during lamination. Photovoltaic modules of the present invention can be processed with a minimum of waste caused by deairing and related lamination problems.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2008Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: Solutia Inc.Inventors: Francois Andre Koran, Stephen Joseph Norton, Khanh Duc Tran

Publication number: 20110263270Abstract: Described are a method, system, and mobile communication device for sharing a signal received by an antenna. A signal, such as a signal sent from a global positioning system, is received by the antenna. An amplifier is then used to generate an amplified signal. The amplifier is located an attenuation distance away from a noise source. The amplified signal is divided into a first divided signal and a second divided signal, which are respectively transmitted to first and second signal utilization modules. While being transmitted from the antenna to the first and second signal utilization modules, the signal suffers propagation losses. While locating the amplifier remote from the noise source decreases noise strength, which positively contributes to signal-to-noise ratio, it also increases propagation losses, which negatively contributes to signal-to-noise ratio.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2010Publication date: October 27, 2011Applicant: PSION TEKLOGIX INC.Inventors: Iain Campbell ROY, Michael Huu Duc TRAN

Patent number: 7966383Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include a computer-implemented systems and methods for accessing metadata across a network. A metadata server receives requests to access a data source from one or more clients. The metadata server is coupled between one or more backend servers and the clients. The backend servers may be coupled to the data sources of interest. The metadata server provides a metadata service proxy for establishing communications with the backend servers and for signaling the backend servers to establish connections to data sources. Data sources may be stateful or stateless. For stateless data sources, the metadata server may dynamically create reusable metadata service provider proxies that receive metadata from metadata service providers on the backend servers. For stateful data sources, unique metadata service provider proxies may be dynamically created and used to service client requests.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2009Date of Patent: June 21, 2011Assignee: Business Objects Software Ltd.Inventors: Wu Cao, Sridhar Ganti, Vikram Kunniyur, Duc Tran

Publication number: 20110039884Abstract: The invention relates to imidazopyridinones, to their use in medicine, to compositions containing them, to processes for their preparation and to intermediates used in such processes. By activating TLRs, it should be possible to induce or stimulate immune cells to mount an immune response. In particular, the TLR7 has been implicated in viral infections (such as HCV or HBV), cancers and tumours, and T2 Helper cell (TH2) mediated diseases, and hence TLR7 agonists are potentially useful in the treatment of such diseases. We have now found a series of imidazopyridinones which are agonists of TLR7. According, there is provided a compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof, wherein R1 is 3- to 8-membered saturated heterocyclic group wherein one ring member is —O—; and R2 is phenyl or pyridinyl, each optionally substituted by C1-C6alkyl.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2010Publication date: February 17, 2011Applicant: Pfizer LimitedInventors: Peter H. Patent number: 7755070Abstract: The invention is directed to an arrangement for the suppression of unwanted spectral components (‘out-of-band’ radiation, as it is called) in a plasma-based radiation source. The object of the invention is to find a novel possibility for the suppression of unwanted spectral components in radiation exiting from a plasma-based EUV radiation source which permits a simple suppression of out-of-band radiation outside the desired EUV range without requiring costly manufacturing and adjustment of diffraction gratings. This object is met according to the invention in that a filter unit is provided between the plasma and an application location of the EUV radiation, which filter unit has at least one gas curtain comprising at least one rapidly flowing gas whose molecules have no absorption maxima for the desired EUV radiation and intensive absorption maxima for other, unwanted wavelengths that are emitted, at least in the IR region.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2006Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Assignee: XTREME technologies GmbHInventors: René De Bruijn, Chinh Duc Tran, Bjoern Mader, Jesko Brudermann, Juergen Kleinschmidt

Patent number: 7750327Abstract: The invention is directed to a device for generating flows of gas for filtering the radiation emitted in plasma-based radiation sources. It is the object of the invention to find a novel possibility for generating a gas curtain in the immediate vicinity of a radiating plasma so as to permit a simple arrangement and design and a long life of the device for generating the gas curtain under extreme thermal stress. According to the invention, this object is met in that a slit nozzle is formed of a plurality of partial bodies comprising different materials to form a supersonic nozzle profile for the generation of a broad gas curtain in order to accommodate the slit nozzle to different thermal and precision-mechanical requirements in the gas inlet region and in the gas outlet region.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2008Date of Patent: July 6, 2010Assignee: XTREME technologies GmbHInventors: Chinh Duc Tran, Jesko Brudermann, Bjoern Mader, Gilbert Dornieden, Thomas Brauner

Publication number: 20100065105Abstract: The present invention provides a thin film photovoltaic module that has a protective substrate, such as glass, that has been contoured to define a space that overlies a bus bar on the thin film photovoltaic device. The contouring of the protective substrate greatly facilitates the deairing and lamination of the module because it reduces or eliminates the amount of trapped air and the degree to which the underlying polymeric material is forced to flow during lamination. Photovoltaic modules of the present invention can be processed with a minimum of waste caused by deairing and related lamination problems.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 12, 2008Publication date: March 18, 2010Inventors: Francois Andre Koran, Stephen Joseph Norton, Khanh Duc Tran
