  • Publication number: 20130104766
Abstract: A diversionary device has a housing containing a pyrotechnic cartridge (24) with an ignitable fuse (52). A firing arrangement includes an ignition cap (60) containing a primer charge (54). Passageways (74, 82) in the housing and ignition cap define a first flow path from the primer charge to a region of the housing in which the fuse (52) is located through which flash from the primer charge can flow to ignite the fuse (52). A further flow path connects said region of the housing with the exterior of the housing to supply the fuse with oxygen for reliable burning. The device may be a multi-burst device containing a plurality of cartridges (24) and the first flow path may include a flash divider (86) for directing a proportion of the flash from a primer charge on to the fuse (52) of each cartridge. The housing may be separable to allow replacement of the cartridges (24).

  • Patent number: 8433295
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are disclosed for enabling multiple telecommunications terminals that are associated with a common user to notify their user of the arrival of an incoming message via a ringtone, where the ringtone is: (i) coordinated across the terminals, and (ii) customized for each terminal based on one or more attributes of the terminal. In particular, in the illustrative embodiments a network infrastructure element (e.g., a switch, a wireless base station, a server, etc.) that receives a message directed to a telecommunications terminal sets the values of one or more properties of a ringtone (e.g., tempo, timbre, pitch, rhythm, etc.) based on one or more attributes of the telecommunications terminal (e.g., terminal type, etc.).

  • Patent number: 8432058
Abstract: A power supply device that enables completion of precharging to be accurately determined without increasing manufacturing cost. The power supply device includes a battery pack, a positive main contactor, a precharge contactor, and a precharge resistor. The battery pack supplies DC power to an inverter. A smoothing capacitor is arranged between input terminals of the inverter. The positive main contact disconnects the inverter from a positive electrode of the battery pack. A voltmeter detects the voltage between a negative electrode of the battery pack and a connection node of the precharge contactor and precharge resistor. Voltage detection values taken by the voltmeter immediately before precharging and during precharging are used to determine precharging completion.

  • Publication number: 20130100769
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of methods, devices and systems for performing a microseismic survey. According to some embodiments, microseismic signals are detected at seismic sensor stations deployed in two sets of seismic sensor lines, the seismic sensor lines within each set being substantially parallel to one another and the two sets of seismic sensor lines being mutually orthogonal. According to other embodiments, microseismic signals are detected at seismic sensor stations deployed in a hexagonal pattern. Such sensor geometries offer advantages over linear or radial arrays, including noise reduction, data acquisition flexibility as new wells are added to the survey area, and an improved distribution of data points above points in the subsurface.
