  • Patent number: 8465282
Abstract: An oral implant system and method. The system includes a positioning tool, a transfer band, a transfer screw, and a transfer drill to provide for accurate placement of a dental implant parallel to other implants and or existing teeth and at predetermined depths. A model is made of the patient's maxilla and mandible. The model is marked for implant position, depth and size. Holes are drilled in the model for implant analogs using the positioning tool. The analogs are installed into the model using the positioning tool and a surveyor. Transfer bands are coupled to the analogs and a surgical stent portion is fabricated. The surgical stent is fitted to the patient's occlusion, secured, and then utilized to accurately drill apertures into the patient's maxilla or mandible. The implants are installed into the apertures and the surgical stent is removed. A final restoration is secured to the implants.

  • Publication number: 20130152093
Abstract: A time slice group (TSG) is a grouping of different streams of work (referred to herein as “channels”) that share the same context information. The set of channels belonging to a TSG are processed in a pre-determined order. However, when a channel stalls while processing, the next channel with independent work can be switched to fully load the parallel processing unit. Importantly, because each channel in the TSG shares the same context information, a context switch operation is not needed when the processing of a particular channel in the TSG stops and the processing of a next channel in the TSG begins. Therefore, multiple independent streams of work are allowed to run concurrently within a single context increasing utilization of parallel processing units.

  • Publication number: 20130146932
Abstract: The present invention relates to light-emitting diodes (LEDs), and related components, processes, systems, and methods. In certain embodiments, an LED that provides improved optical and thermal efficiency when used in optical systems with a non-rectangular input aperture (e.g., a circular aperture) is described. In some embodiments, the emission surface of the LED and/or an emitter output aperture can be shaped (e.g., in a non-rectangular shape) such that enhanced optical and thermal efficiencies are achieved. In addition, in some embodiments, chip designs and processes that may be employed in order to produce such devices are described.

  • Patent number: 8463330
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are disclosed for enabling a telecommunications terminal to notify its user of the arrival of a message via an acoustic or visual signal whose properties are based on attributes of the message. A network infrastructure element (e.g., a switch, a private branch exchange [PBX], a server, etc.) receives a message directed to a terminal and sets the values of ringtone properties (e.g., tempo, volume, pitch, rhythm, etc.) based on attributes of an incoming message (e.g., the sender, a priority, a subject, the location from which the message was sent, etc.). In a first illustrative embodiment the network infrastructure element sends the message and the instantiated ringtone to the terminal, while in a second illustrative embodiment the network infrastructure element sends the message and the property values to the terminal, and the terminal plays a locally-stored ringtone in accordance with the property values.

  • Patent number: 8461192
Abstract: PKCiota inhibitor 1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide, 5-amino-1-[2,3-dihydroxy-4-[(phosphonooxy)methyl]cyclopentyl]-,[1R-(1?,2?,3?,4?)], (ICA-1), targets a unique sequence (amino acid residues 469-475) in the catalytic domain of PKCiota and inhibits PKCiota activity. The data shows suprising and unexpected ability of ICA-1 to selectively inhibit the proliferation of cells that overexpress PKCiota.

  • Patent number: 8462574
Abstract: A high-density dynamic memory device with compact sense amplifier circuit is described. The memory device achieves high density through the use of a compact sense amplifier circuit that employs a single transistor to sense stored dynamic data. Functionality of the device is enabled by an architecture and method of operation that support a compact sense amplifier circuit. Enabling techniques include sequential sensing of memory columns, a two-pass write operation, a two-step refresh operation, a reference scheme that uses reference data stored in regular memory cells, and the application of digital signal processing to determine sensed data and cancel crosstalk noise.
