  • Publication number: 20170041381
Abstract: Particular embodiments of a gateway computing device may provide a provisioning service for access credentials for a restricted network. The gateway computing device may receive, from a client device, a request for the access credentials, wherein the request was sent over an open network using a restricted-packet-size protocol designed to limit power usage by devices sending messages using the protocol. The gateway computing device may segment data comprising the access credentials into a plurality of packets, wherein the plurality of packets conform to the restricted-packet-size protocol. Finally, the gateway computing device may send, over the open network to the client device, the segmented data using the restricted-packet-size protocol.

  • Patent number: 9531406
Abstract: It is provided a method for decoding a sequence of bits encoded by a LPDC code. The method comprises providing a set of bit states, including a first state and a second state, and a set of conditions to change a bit state including a first condition 5 and a second condition. The first condition and the second condition are different. The method comprises reading the value of each bit of the sequence, associating each bit to a respective state of the set according to the values as read, determining that an evaluated condition is met and changing the state of the target bit as a result of the condition being met. The method may then set the value of the target bit of the 10 sequence according to the state thereof. Such a method provides a solution for decoding a sequence of bits encoded by a LDPC code with better performance than the classic bit-flipping algorithm with only a slight increase in complexity.

  • Publication number: 20160349130
Abstract: A pressure sensor which detects variation in pressures, the pressure sensor including a cantilever which is bent according to a pressure difference between the inside and the outside of a cavity in a sensor main body, and an intra-lever gap which is formed on a proximal end portion of the cantilever. The proximal end portion is partitioned into a first support portion and a second support portion by an intra-lever gap in a second direction orthogonal to a first direction in which the proximal end portion and a distal end portion are connected to each other in plan view. A doped layer which is provided on a portion of the first and second support portions forms a first displacement detection portion and a second displacement detection portion. Lengths of the first and second displacement detection portions are shorter than those of the first and second supports along the second direction.

  • Publication number: 20160283366
Abstract: An electronic device with volatile memory repeatedly compares an amount of free volatile memory to a first predetermined threshold level of free volatile memory. When the device determines that the amount of free volatile memory is less than the first predetermined threshold level, the device deallocates volatile memory by terminating one or more processes based on predetermined priority levels of the one or more processes.

  • Patent number: 9447496
Abstract: A hybrid deposition process of CVD and ALD, called NanoLayer Deposition (NLD) is provided. The NLD process is a cyclic sequential deposition process, including introducing a first plurality of precursors to deposit a thin film and introducing a second plurality of precursors to modify the deposited thin film. The deposition using the first set of precursors is not self limiting and is a function of substrate temperature and process time. The second set of precursors modifies the already deposited film characteristics. The second set of precursors can treat the deposited film, including treatments such as modification of film composition and doping or removal of impurities from the deposited film. The second set of precursors can also deposit another layer on the deposited film. The additional layer can react with the existing layer to form a compound layer, or can have minimum reaction to form a nanolaminate film.

  • Publication number: 20160247093
Abstract: Methods and systems for enforcing host standards in a reservation system. In one embodiment, a reservation system provides two methods of communication between a potential guest and a host, hard communications and soft communications. The reservation system associates both types of communication with threads, each thread associated with the host and an associated reservation. The reservation system determines suspension metrics for each host based on the communications of the threads they are associated with. When the suspension metrics associated with a host satisfy one or more suspension criteria, the reservation system issues a suspension to the host.

  • Publication number: 20160202909
Abstract: An I/O scheduler having reduced application delay is provided for an electronic device having storage media and running at least one application. Each application interfaces with the storage media through an I/O path. Each application issues I/O requests requiring access to the storage media. The I/O requests include reads from the storage media and writes to the storage media. The I/O requests are ordered in the I/O path such that the reads are assigned a higher priority than the writes. The I/O requests are dispatched from the I/O path to the storage media in accordance with ordering step such that the reads are dispatched before the writes. The scheduler's dispatch can also apply concurrency parameters for the electronic device.
