    Abstract: An valve prosthesis, such as an artificial venous valve, having a support frame and leaf structure comprising one or more leaflets in which the outer edge of each leaflet engages the inner circumference of the bodily passageway along a serpentine path urged against the passageway by an expandable frame, while the inner edges move in response to fluid to restrict retrograde flow. Optionally, one or more elements can extend from the support frame/leaf structure to provide centering support and/or protection from the leaflet adhering to the vessel wall. In one embodiment, the centering support structure comprises a second or third expandable frames attached to and extending from the proximal and/or distal ends of main valve structure and support frame. In another embodiment, one or more support elements extend outward from the valve support frame to engage the vessel wall to provide greater longitudinal stability.

    Abstract: Methods for implanting a prosthetic valve in a body vessel having a fluid flow therethrough are provided. One method includes identifying a position of an existing valve and determining a factor affecting fluid flow in at least one of a first direction and a second direction at the existing valve. The method includes selecting the implantation position for a prosthetic valve at a distance away from the existing valve position in consideration of the factor. The method further includes providing the prosthetic valve for delivery to the implantation position, delivering and implanting the prosthetic valve at the position. The prosthetic valve includes at least one flexible member movable between a first position that permits fluid flow in the first direction and the second position that substantially prevents fluid flow in a second direction.

    Abstract: An apparatus which includes a closure member and delivery systems for closing vessels in the body of a patient is disclosed. In one embodiment, the closure member is a hemostatic closure member having a cylindrical shape and an expandable volume on contact with fluids.     Abstract: An endovascular graft prosthesis for arrangement at an aneurysm positioned in the vicinity of a bifurcation in an arterial system having a main lumen and a first and a second branch lumen. The endovascular graft prosthesis includes a prosthetic device with at least one expandable tubular frame body for arrangement in the main lumen and a first and a second graft limb. The frame body is contractible into a first shape with a smaller diameter for introduction to a vascular site upstream of the aneurysm and is radially expandable into a second shape having a larger diameter and an inner lumen. The frame body is provided with a covering which extends across the inner lumen of the tubular frame body and has two apertures each of which has a diameter of less than half the larger diameter of the frame body. The first and second limbs have a cranial end for mounting at one of the apertures and a caudal end for arrangement in one of the branch lumens.
