  • Patent number: 10591303
Abstract: The gaming system and method of the present disclosure leverage casino patrons' mobile devices to facilitate directing the patrons exactly to their desired electronic gaming machines (EGMs). In various embodiments, the gaming system includes a central controller communicatively connected to a plurality of EGMs. The central controller receives a request from a patron's mobile device to find a desired one of the EGMs. The central controller causes the desired EGM and the patron's mobile device to output the same patron identifier, such as a patron-created image, and causes the patron's mobile device to use GPS to direct the patron to the vicinity of the desired EGM. Once the patron is within the vicinity of the desired EGM, the patron can quickly scan the surrounding EGMs to determine the one outputting the patron identifier, which is the patron's desired EGM.

  • Patent number: 10546460
Abstract: A gaming system compatible with patron-controlled portable electronic devices, such as smart phones or tablet computers, is described. The gaming system is configured to detect the presence of portable electronic devices and determine their locations in a casino environment and determine whether to initiate an attract feature. Based on the determined location of the portable electronic device, nearby gaming devices, such as electronic gaming machines can be selected for use in generating an attract feature for a patron. The generated attract feature can include outputting content to one or more EGMs and/or a patron's portable electronic device. The gaming devices selected for use in an attract feature and/or the content associated with the attract feature can be affected by patron specified preferences. In one embodiment, the patron specified preferences can be entered and stored using an application executed on their portable electronic device.

  • Patent number: 10373425
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system and method for automatically creating and updating a friend database associated with a player. Generally, in various embodiments, the system of the present disclosure is configured to access one or more player accounts (such as social media accounts) of the player, collect player friend data from the accessed player account(s), determine a list or one of more friends of the player based on the collected player data, and create or update a friend database associated with the player to include the determined friends. The system of the present disclosure thus dynamically and automatically creates and updates the friend database associated with the player without requiring the player to actively create and repeatedly and actively update (e.g., add friends to and remove friends from) the friend database.
