    Abstract: To determine the presence of Mycobacterium in an environment, a sample from the environment can be plated onto a growth medium that is selective for Mycobacterium. The agar based growth medium can include a high concentration of crystal violet, in excess of 0.5 ?g/ml. The process may be made further selective for Mycobacterium by treating the sample with sodium dodecyl sulfate containing glycine hydrochloride for at least 4 minutes at room temperature, prior to plating. Mycobacterium colonies will generally appear white while other colonies will generally appear stained purple or another color.

    Abstract: An aircraft defining an upright orientation and an inverted orientation, a ground station; and a control system for remotely controlling the flight of the aircraft. The ground station has an auto-land function that causes the aircraft to invert, stall, and controllably land in the inverted orientation to protect a payload and a rudder extending down from the aircraft. In the upright orientation, the ground station depicts the view from a first aircraft camera. When switching to the inverted orientation: (1) the ground station depicts the view from a second aircraft camera, (2) the aircraft switches the colors of red and green wing lights, extends the ailerons to act as inverted flaps, and (3) the control system adapts a ground station controller for the inverted orientation. The aircraft landing gear is an expanded polypropylene pad located above the wing when the aircraft is in the upright orientation.

    Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for tracking puts and takes of inventory items by subjects in an area of real space. A plurality of cameras with overlapping fields of view produce respective sequences of images of corresponding fields of view in the real space. In one embodiment, the system includes first image processors, including subject image recognition engines, receiving corresponding sequences of images from the plurality of cameras. The first image processors process images to identify subjects represented in the images in the corresponding sequences of images. The system includes second image processors, including background image recognition engines, receiving corresponding sequences of images from the plurality of cameras. The second image processors mask the identified subjects to generate masked images. Following this, the second image processors process the masked images to identify and classify background changes represented in the images in the corresponding sequences of images.

A timing synchronization system provides circuits that support bi-directional half-duplex voltage signals (transmit or receive) but protect against incorrect input/output configuration whereby a transmit signal media is connected to a receive port or a receive signal media is connected to a transmit port. The system provides configurable signal propagation by use of parallel connection of two or more buffer in series with a resistor. Various isolation circuitry and resistors can be used to protect against signal transmission during receive mode.
