  • Patent number: 11948375
Abstract: The contents of totes and the amount a tote container is filled are monitored. A central database stores product dimensions and tote dimensions as well as a percentage of which a tote is to be filled. Image scanners that obtain three-dimensional images are used to determine if the actual dimensions of the tote, the product, and the fill amount are consistent with the expected or optimal values of these characteristics. When there is a discrepancy between measured and expected values, then one or more actions can be taken.

  • Patent number: 11551678
Abstract: A first electronic device is provided. While a media content item provided by a media-providing service is emitted by a second electronic device that is remote from the first electronic device, the first electronic device receives, from the media-providing service, data that includes an audio stream that corresponds to the media content item. The first electronic device detects ambient sound that includes sound corresponding to the media content item emitted by the second electronic device. The first electronic device generates a cleaned version of the ambient sound, which includes: using the data received from the media-providing service to align the audio stream with the ambient sound; and performing a subtraction operation to subtract the audio stream from the ambient sound. The first electronic device detects a voice command in the cleaned version of the ambient sound.

  • Patent number: 10994816
Abstract: A floating device having active stabilization and a method for actively stabilizing a floating device employs a floating device that operates underwater and which may be tethered to the floor of the body of water. The floating device having active stabilization includes an internal sensor assembly which measures angular velocity and generates a real time output corresponding to a measured angular velocity and a counter-rotation assembly which generates in real time mechanical energy in the form of rotation in response to the real time output of the sensor assembly that causes a counter-rotation torque on the device body that opposes the measured angular velocity. The counter-rotation torque may be imparted by accelerating a flywheel as a reaction wheel in the opposite direction of the desired counter-rotation torque, thereby achieving stability of the device body in the form of minimizing rotation.

  • Patent number: 10232914
Abstract: A pressure activated time-delayed release device and method. The device includes a body having a drive chamber and a compression chamber disposed therein, a drive piston disposed within the drive chamber of the body, and a compression piston disposed within the compression chamber of the body. A throttle mechanism is disposed between the drive piston and the compression piston. The throttle mechanism controls a release of viscous fluid from the drive chamber into the compression chamber. The drive piston and compression piston are connected so as to cause the compression piston to move substantially simultaneously with the drive piston to compress a compressible element disposed within the compression chamber. The device moves from an un-actuated state to an actuated state when the device is exposed to a predetermined water pressure for a predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 9760735
Abstract: A third party facilitates exchange of customer data between first and second entities while maintaining customer privacy. Personally identifiable information (PII) and first entity customer attributes of a first set of customers are received from a first entity. PII for a second set of customers is received from a second entity. First and second set common customers are identified using the PII of the first and the second set of customers. Subsequently, a list of third set of customers is sent to the second entity. The list of third set of customers includes the common customers and a plurality of other customers from the second set of customers. Second entity customer attributes are received for each customer in the list of third set of customers. Further, the first entity customer attributes of the common customers and the second entity customer attributes of the common customers are linked.

  • Patent number: 9360620
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention describe apparatuses, systems, and methods of thermal management for photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Embodiments include a first device and a second device comprising including waveguides, wherein the first and second devices have different thermal operating conditions. A first region is adjacent to a waveguide of the first device, wherein its optical mode is to be substantially confined by the first region, and wherein the first region has a first thermal conductivity to dissipate heat based on the thermal operating condition of the first device. A second region is adjacent to a waveguide of the second device, wherein its optical mode is to be substantially confined by the second region, and wherein the second region has a second thermal conductivity to dissipate heat based on the thermal operating condition of the second device. In some embodiments, thermal cross talk is reduced without significantly affecting optical performance.
