  • Patent number: 8123524
Abstract: Dental implant and piece to be connected to a dental implant are provided. Both the implant and the piece are capable of being connected to each other by an internal connection to the dental implant. The internal connection principally comprises an anti-rotational part and a cylindrical part, with the anti-rotational part being formed by the repetition of a series of anti-rotational components, each of them formed by a series of arcs tangent to each other. This design of the anti-rotational part enables better performance to be obtained than with known anti-rotational designs.

  • Publication number: 20110223558
Abstract: Method for extracting an implant installed in a bone, which comprises the application of a torque on an extraction tool in order to thread it in the interior of the implant until the implant-bone connection is broken, with the specific feature that the torque is applied in phases. In each phase a torque that is increasingly greater than in the previous phase is applied and the application of torque is then eased. This method brings about a gradual and controlled deformation of the head of the implant, with the result that the extraction tool is inserted more deeply into the implant. As a result, higher breakage torques may be applied without damage being caused to the extraction tool.

  • Publication number: 20110223557
Abstract: Extension tool (1) for applying torque to a dental implant, which comprises an elongated body (2), means of connection to a dental implant at one end of the body (2), means of connection to a torque wrench at the other end of the body (2), and a longitudinal through hole (8) for the insertion of a screw designed to be screwed into a blind threaded hole in the dental implant and ensure the correct alignment between the extension tool (1) and the dental implant. The extension tool (1) according to the invention allows very high torques to be applied to the dental implant, the tool being therefore suitable for extracting the dental implant.

  • Publication number: 20110172673
Abstract: Implant removal tool (1) which allows removing an implant (5) from a patient's bone (6). The implant removal tool (1) comprises a head (2), to which a torque-providing system is attached, and a threaded body (4) preferably with a decreasing diameter. The threaded body (4) preferably has a thread to the left and is intended to be threaded into the hole (7) of the implant (5). The extraction of the implant (5) is relatively simple to carry out, removing the implant (5) in an almost clean manner and leaving a very small cavity (13) in the patient's bone (6). Therefore, the implant removal tool (1) according to the invention makes the removal of an implant (5) a far less traumatic procedure for the patient.

  • Publication number: 20100304336
Abstract: Threaded connection between a male part (2) and a female part (1), particularly between a screw and a dental implant, both parts (1, 2) fitted with a thread profile with spires, whereby the thread step (4b) of the thread profile of the male part (2) is different to the thread step (4a) of the thread profile of the female part (1), obtaining a controlled gap (3) between both parts. According to the invention, one of the two parts (1, 2) has a variable thread step. Therefore, the threaded connection between both parts (1, 2) presents a gap (3) that varies in a non-linear manner. By appropriately adjusting the specific design of the thread steps, it is possible to control the stress distribution throughout the threaded connection in accordance with the interests of the application.

  • Publication number: 20100288706
Abstract: Method for the preparation of at least one compound with biological properties from blood, where said method is performed in sealed tubes at a pressure below atmospheric pressure, thereby reducing or preventing the bacterial contamination of the compound through handling. The method comprises the repetition, for as many times as is required, of the following steps: connecting a second container that is vacuum-sealed to an extraction device connected in turn to a first container that contains blood separated into fractions, waiting for a period of time until the required fraction(s) is/are transferred, and removing said second container, with it thus being possible to obtain several second containers with different compounds for different medical applications including biological therapies. The steps may be performed in a closed system, without removing the caps of the containers, or alternatively the first container may be opened prior to the introduction of the extraction device.

  • Publication number: 20100273128
Abstract: Set of motor-driven instruments to aid the fixing of dental implants that combines drills (1, 2) and motor-driven osteotomes (4A, 4B, 4C, 4D) of progressive diameters. These have a threaded conical section (9), followed by a threaded cylindrical section (8) and another area (7) to fit the connectors (14, 17) to the surgical motor or a manual extractor.

  • Publication number: 20100126318
Abstract: Wrench (1) for providing a maximum torque to an external part, characterised in that it comprises at least one elongated metal part (3) provided with a fixed end (4) and a pusher end (5), and which also comprises a torque-applying head (6) upon which the pusher end (5) acts, wherein the elongated metal part (3) is capable of bending when a torque is applied with the wrench, and wherein the elongated metal part (3) reaches a maximum bending point that determines the maximum torque provided by the wrench (1). The inventive wrench (1) is easier to use than conventional spring-based wrenches as the force required to adjust the torque is minimal and independent of the torque value to which the wrench is adjusted. It is also capable of providing higher torque values.

  • Publication number: 20090319042
Abstract: Threaded part (1), designed to be connected to a threaded hole (7) of an implant (6), which comprises a main threaded area (4) ending in a decreasing-width-provided threaded tip (5). The presence of the decreasing-width-provided threaded tip (5) has two beneficial effects: due to its decreasing width, the tip of the threaded part (1) may be inserted more easily in the threaded hole (7), even when the threaded part (1) enters the threaded hole (7) at a very pronounced angle; as it is threaded, the tip of the threaded part (1) can start to be threaded in the threaded hole (7) before the main threaded area (4), as a result of which the threaded part (1) tends to straighten itself as it is screwed in. The inventive threaded part (1) may be a prosthesis screw, a closure screw, an implant-bearing screw, a healing abutment, a transepithelial, etc.

  • Publication number: 20090222005
Abstract: Motor-driven hone crest expander-compacter (1) whose geometry and dimensions have been redesigned to optimal values that allow the expander-compacter (1) to bc used for bone expansion or compaction in rear areas of the patient's mouth. The expander-compacter (1) presents a threaded body (3) with a cylindrical threaded area (5) and a conical threaded area (6), where the cylindrical threaded area (5) presents a length smaller than two-thirds the length of the conical threaded area (6), in addition to the fact that the total length of the threaded body (3) is less than 12 mm. The invention also refers to a connector (7) connecting the expander-compacter (1) to a surgical motor, and to an initial burr (11), both of them equally optimised.
