Abstract: A method for two-sided printing of digital images on a roll of media by means of a roll-to-roll system is provided. The roll-to-roll system includes a digital image queue including entries for digital images to be printed on the roll. For each digital image to be printed on a first side of the roll, a first entry is registered in the digital image queue, which entry includes at least one digital item identifying the digital image and digital items of print properties of the digital image. For each digital image to be printed on a second side of the roll, a second entry is registered in the digital image queue, which entry includes at least one digital item identifying the digital image and digital items of print properties of the digital image.

Abstract: A method for printing digital images on at least one input roll of media in order to form at least one output roll by means of a roll-to-roll printing system is disclosed. The roll-to-roll printing system includes a digital image queue including an entry for each digital image to be printed. Abstract: A print system includes a print engine for printing on sheets of receiving material. A user interface unit includes a display. A plurality of holders each hold one type of receiving material and deliver the material to the print engine. A receiver receives jobs, a job being an order for printing information on sheets of receiving material of a type as specified in the order. A control system plans jobs, wherein the jobs are placed in a print queue in a sequence of finishing, the control system also being provided with a device configured to establish the types of receiving material required for printing the respective jobs in the print queue. The control system is adapted to establish, for a type of receiving material, a shortage quantity, if any, of that receiving material, for completely printing the jobs, and to indicate the shortage quantity on the display of the user interface.

Abstract: A digital copying apparatus comprising a scanner unit, a processing unit, a printer unit and a control unit. The control unit defines the image orientation of the image on each document automatically on the basis of the orientation of the document and on an assumption that the reading direction of the image on the document is always situated in a fixed predetermined direction with respect to the scanner unit. When original documents are introduced into this apparatus allowing for the fixed direction, the processing operations related to the image orientation automatically take place correctly. As a result, many settings which normally have to be input to define a copy job are superfluous.

Abstract: A method of printing image information on a receiving material, two sides of which are provided with a binding portion for collecting a plurality of receiving materials into a booklet, the image information of at least two images being printed next to one another on the receiving material such that the images situated next to one another are printed with reading orientations rotated 180.degree. relative to one another and forming a right angle with the sides of the receiving material that are provided with the binding portion. To rotate the images, a fast method of rotating digital images is described which requires minimal memory space. Furthermore, the rotation method is particularly applicable to rotating a series of images and includes the capability of rotating each image in the series differently while utilizing minimal memory space and processor time.
