    Abstract: A manually operated, finger-manipulatable non-electric hair trimming device for shaving nostril hair, ear hair or the like, includes a head structure sized to fit within a small body cavity, such as a person's nostril or ear cavity, which includes a flexible razor blade strip. The head structure has a base portion and a curved guard portion, which preferably has first and second ends which are attached to the base portion. A finger grip portion is connected to the base portion to allow precise manual manipulation of the hair trimming device. The head structure further has a thin, elongated narrow razor blade strip with a razor sharp first edge portion, which may be a serrated edge with razor-sharp notches such as V-slots or may be a conventional straight edge. Alternatively, two razor-sharp edges, one serrated and one straight, may be provided.

    Abstract: The invention is an imaging device having a high fill factor. The high fill factor is achieved by constructing the light sensors in a vertical fashion in the imaging device. The control circuitry of the light sensor is then contained inside the integrated circuit chip, rather than taking up area that could otherwise be used for light collection. The majority of the area on the surface of the IC chip is made up of light sensing elements, since the control circuitry is embedded in the IC chip. The control circuitry is connected to the light sensing devices through vias in the IC chip. The control circuitry of the chip is mainly contained within the die, rather than on it.

    Abstract: A gas sensor is described which is particularly well suited as a carbon monoxide (CO) sensor in a self test gas sensor. The sensor includes a number of aspects which may or may not be used in conjunction with one another. A first aspect is an embodiment which reduces electrical interference (or cross-talk) between a test or gas generating cell and a sensing cell. In one embodiment, baffles are provided to prevent cross-talk. In another embodiment a switching circuit ensures that a test gas generator is operational only when the gas sensor is disconnected from a current source. A second aspect is an embodiment which includes an improved wick which is in close proximity with an electrode and ensures electrolyte is always in contact with the electrode. In an alternate embodiment a solid polymer electrolyte is used between the electrodes. A third aspect is an improved catalyst which reduces the reaction energy and thereby renders the sensor more sensitive. The catalyst is also cheaper than platinum.

    Abstract: In-line razor-blade shaving devices feature two sets of razor blade strips pointing inwardly in opposite directions. The devices are designed for safely and rapidly shaving hair from large body portions such as legs and arms. Each device features an elongated handle arranged in line with an elongated bi-directional razor blade head. Each set of razor blade strips in the head may be provided with one or more straight razor-sharp edges, which point in the same direction, while the blade edges of the two sets point inwardly toward from one another, generally in opposite directions. The edges of blade strips of the two sets may be arranged in one common working plane, or each set may be in its own working plane, with the planes at an angle to one another. The working planes are defined by the elongated front and rear guard surfaces of the blade-edge guarding system on the face of the razor head. These guard surfaces contact a user's skin before and after the razor-sharp edges to help ensure safe shaving.
