  • Publication number: 20040117259
Abstract: A method and system for providing an ad is disclosed. The method of one embodiment comprises combining an ad input file with a conduit file to create an integrated ad file, wherein the ad input file identifies at least the content of the ad and the conduit file identifies at least the tracking data for the ad. The integrated ad file may then be served. According to a further embodiment, the method further includes effectuating a modification to the ad content by updating the ad input file, recombining the modified ad input file with the conduit file to create a modified integrate ad file and serving the modified integrated ad file.

  • Publication number: 20020161714
Abstract: A system and method for enabling authorized music from a CD or DVD to be compressed by a user for the user's own use, but to prevent the recompression of unauthorized music from, e.g., the Internet, includes hashing the music during recording with a cryptographic hash, and then signing the hash with a digital signature derived from the hash. Subsequent unauthorized compression and recompression will destroy the digital signature. Accordingly, music to be recorded is hashed to obtain a test digital signature and if, after hashing, the test digital signature matches the digital signature accompanying the music, compression and recording are allowed to proceed.

  • Patent number: 6336411
Abstract: A roof assembly for a railroad boxcar having centrally located side door openings. The roof assembly is formed of a number of roof panels each of generally rectangular shape and having longitudinally and laterally located edges. The roof panels are positioned on the boxcar with the longitudinal edges of the panels supported on top side plates of the boxcar. The roof panels include end panels, intermediate panels and door overlying panels. Each of the end panels is located at one of the longitudinal ends of the boxcar and has a laterally located edge. The door overlying panels are positioned over the centrally located side doors of the boxcar. The intermediate panels are positioned between the end panels and the door overlying panels. Each of the intermediate panels is wider than each of the door overlying panels and wider than the end panels. Each intermediate panel is formed with four corrugations while each end panel and door overlying panel is formed with two corrugations.

  • Patent number: 6102762
Abstract: A marine escape system has a passage extending between an evacuation point on a vessel and an inflatable life raft. The passage is arranged vertically and is connected to a succession of hoops. The connection between at least one of the hoops and the life raft is achieved by flexible elongate members of differing flexibility These are held in tension so that, as the life rafts move on swell, the passage extends and retracts from the lower end first. This allows the passage to have only one exit which can be within a life raft so that persons can evacuate from the ship without ever being exposed to the elements. The passage may include a helical tube or a tube with angled panels.

  • Patent number: 5844529
Abstract: An enclosed antenna assembly having a non-rigid, floating connection between an aluminum tray and a radome along the length of the assembly. The non-rigid, floating connection along the length of the antenna assembly provides a seal that is not damaged or degraded as a result of thermal expansion and contraction of the dissimilar materials. The tray and radome are joined along their length by a tongue and groove type connection, which allows free movement along the major axis. A top end cap provides the only rigid connection between the tray and the radome. A bottom end cap is fastened only to the radome. The design of the keyway and the top end cap prevent direct water intrusion. The bottom end cap includes weep holes to allow condensation to escape from the interior of the antenna assembly.

  • Patent number: 5361534
Abstract: An irrigation control system is disclosed for controlling the irrigation of horticultural plants or crops grown in containers. The system includes a beam assembly for supporting the plant media system and a load cell for providing an electrical output signal proportional to the load applied to the beam assembly by the plant media system. The load cell is interfaced with a microcomputer which executes a control program of the present invention. The control program reads the signal from the load cell at selected intervals and signals for an irrigation event if the current weight of the plant media system is less than a predetermined base weight. A new predetermined base weight is calculated and reset after each irrigation event.

  • Patent number: 4721426
Abstract: Bridge plate for moving automobiles between railroad auto-rack cars characterized by an intermediate upright trues and two bracing trusses joined thereto of inverted trapezoidal cross section. A bottom plate joins the bracing trusses, secured by mechanical fasteners, and struts are interposed between the bottom plate and the intermediate truss to transfer a load on the intermediate truss to the bottom plate. The intermediate truss presents a flat top for one set (left or right) of the automobile wheels.

  • Patent number: 4101907
Abstract: An optical recording medium comprises a light reflecting material coated with a light absorbing material which is coated with a transparent barrier layer and overcoated with a relatively thick transparent protective layer. During recording, portions of the light absorbing layer are ablated by a modulated focussed light beam, thereby exposing portions of the reflecting layer while leaving the barrier and overcoat layers intact. Information is recorded in the form of a reflective-antireflective pattern. The overcoat layer suspends dust particles far above the focal plane of the recording lens, thereby reducing their effect on the recording or playback signal. The barrier layer insulates the light absorbing layer and the overcoat layer from chemical and thermal interactions which might result in a decreased signal-to-noise ratio.

  • Patent number: 4023185
Abstract: An ablative recording medium comprises a substrate coated with a light reflecting coating which in turn is coated with a light absorptive layer of 4-phenylazo-1-naphthylamine formed by evaporation of Sudan Black B dyestuff. During recording, portions of the organic coating are ablated, or vaporized, by a modulated focussed light beam, thereby exposing portions of the reflective layer and recording video information as a reflective-antireflective pattern.
