  • Patent number: 5156112
Abstract: A bird feeder having a metal feed container located inside a concentric, coaxial, metal shroud cover that rotates. The metal prevents the feeder from being chewed into by undesirable animals, as well as prevents the birds from seeing the feed in the feeder, therefore the birds curiosity keeps them coming to the feeder to cause its rotation, therefore aiding in the rotation of the feeder cover to cause the feeder to cycle its open to feed mode to its closed no feed mode, allowing the feeder to feed intermittently, as the feeding windows of the cover become misaligned and back to alignment in their relationship to the orifices of the feed container, a cycling of the feed, no feed modes is attained. When the feeder is in its no feed mode, no animals can access the feed in the feeder, including the birds themselves, this is approximately one half of the time of a complete cycle.

  • Patent number: 4601124
Abstract: This relates to a method and apparatus for increasing the rigidity of a conventional pre-existing rifle action receiver of the type which includes a cartridge magazine port having first and second longitudinal edges, an ejection port, and a bolt which reciprocates within the receiver to engage a cartridge and urge it into a chamber at the rearward end of a barrel which is secured into a threaded opening in the front of the receiver. First and second plates are fixedly coupled proximate the first and second edges of the magazine port and extend downwardly therefrom. Rigidity can be further increased by coupling a transverse lateral plate between the first and second plates. Weight and balance can be altered by coupling an insert between the plates.

  • Patent number: 4107558
Abstract: In a primary member for a single-sided linear induction motor having a core member and a plurality of multiturn coils connected to one another in a plurality of phase groups, each phase group being arranged in a plurality of longitudinally spaced pole groups, each consisting of a plurality of coils, the coils of each pole group being connected to each other at a side of the core, the improvement wherein; the coils of each phase group are connected to one another at connection points arranged on the same side of the core, the connection points of one pole group being disposed at the opposite side of the core to that at which the connection points of at least one adjacent pole group are located.

  • Patent number: 4093885
Abstract: A sensor for sensing vibrations in a transducer assembly and for generating an electrical signal indicative of the vibrations is disclosed. The sensor includes a piezoelectric generator which is mounted with a bimorph on a common substrate. The piezoelectric generator and bimorph have a common cantilevered end portion and an opposed deflectable free end portion so that deflection of the free end portion of the bimorph causes a corresponding deflection of the free end portion of the piezoelectric generator, whereby the piezoelectric generator generates an electrical indication of the instantaneous degree of deflection of the bimorph.

  • Patent number: 4058096
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for increasing the effective horsepower of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus consists of a cooling chamber mounted so as to be in communication with the air inlet portion of the carburetor of the engine. In the method of this invention, the ambient air prior to introduction into the carburetor is substantially cooled to quantitatively increase the weight of oxygen in the volume of air introduced into the carburetor. This makes it possible to feed an additional amount of fuel to the engine while maintaining the optimum air-fuel ratio, thereby effectively increasing the horsepower obtainable from the engine.
