  • Publication number: 20160143223
Abstract: A mechanical harvester for harvesting a produce with a stem/core planted in a field is provided. The mechanical harvester includes a chassis, and a cutting device and a transport assembly connected to the chassis. The cutting device is configured to cut the stem/core of the produce. The transport assembly is configured to transport the produce cut by the cutting device. The transport assembly includes a movable first belt and a movable second belt. The movable first belt includes a first set of produce grippers and the movable second belt includes a second set of produce grippers. When the produce cut by the cutting device is held between the first set and second set of produce grippers, a portion of the first set of produce grippers opposes a portion of the second set of produce grippers. • Patent number: 9304787
Abstract: Described is a technique for establishing an interaction language for a user interface without having to communicate with the user in a default language, which the user may or may not understand. The technique may prompt the user for multiples responses in order to determine a specific language. The responses may include speech input or selecting particular regions on a map. In some implementations, the language may be precise to a particular dialect or variant preferred or spoken by the user. Accordingly, this approach provides an accurate and efficient method of providing a high degree of specificity for language selection without overwhelming the user with an unmanageable list of languages.

  • Patent number: 9207174
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for characterizing a replica tape which has been embossed, compressed or cast on a surface of a material to be measured to replicate that surface. The replica tape is secured between first and second holding components such that a compressible surface of the replica tape is secured against the first holding component. A light source transmits light through the second holding component, the replica tape and the first holding component. An image sensor measures intensity of the light respectively transmitted through at least two measurement points of the compressible surface of the replica tape. A processing unit converts the measured light intensity transmitted through the at least two measurement points into at least two data values each respectively relating to a measurement statistic of the replica tape at a corresponding one of the at least two measurement points, respectively.
