  • Patent number: 10360294
Abstract: According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for extracting text from unstructured documents. The method includes creating a spatial index for storing information about words on a page of a document to be analyzed; using the spatial index to detect white space that indicates boundaries of columns within the page, aggregate words into lines, identify lines that are part of a header or footer of the page, and identify lines that are part of a table or a figures within the page; and joining lines together to generate continuous text flows. In one embodiment, the continuous text is divided into sections. In one embodiment, references within the document are identified. In one embodiment, inline citations within the document body are replaced with the corresponding reference information, or portions thereof.

  • Publication number: 20190080002
Abstract: Methods and systems for estimating recall while screening an ordered list of bibliographic references are provided. According to one embodiment, a method includes: sorting a list of bibliographic references according to a sorting algorithm to produce a first list in order from most to least relevant; selecting, from the list, the most relevant reference, and displaying, to a human screener, information associated with the selected reference; and receiving the screener's judgment of the relevance of the selected reference. If sufficiently relevant, the selected reference is moved from the first list to a second list. The received indication is used to re-sort the remaining references in the first list. A statistical model is used to estimate the number of relevant references remaining. That estimate is displayed to the screener. The process ends when the screener determines, based on the displayed estimate, that a sufficient number of relevant references has been found.

  • Patent number: 10048002
Abstract: A cryogenic air separation method and apparatus in which first and second liquid streams are produced. The first liquid stream has a higher oxygen content than air and can consist of a higher pressure distillation column bottoms and the second liquid stream, for instance, air, has a lower oxygen content than the first liquid stream and an argon content no less than the air. The second liquid stream is subcooled through indirect heat exchange with the first liquid stream and both of such streams are introduced into the lower pressure column. The second liquid stream is introduced into the lower pressure column above that point at which the crude liquid oxygen column bottoms or any portion thereof is introduced into the lower pressure column to increase a liquid to vapor ratio below the introduction of the second liquid stream and therefore, reduce the oxygen present within the column overhead.

  • Patent number: 9649508
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer-readable storage media relate to determining individualized treatment planning margins. The methods may include processing motion data of a target obtained from at least one marker for one or more periods. Each period may include a plurality of time intervals. The processing may include processing the motion data to determine an isocenter for each time interval along at least one of the axes of motion. The axes can include the x axis, the y axis, and/or the z axis. The method may include determining motion prediction data for each of the at least one of the axes; and determining treatment planning margins for each of the at least one of the axes based on the motion prediction data. The individualized treatment margins can be smaller and more optimal because the treatment margins can incorporate patient specific patterns of motion of a target (e.g., an organ).

  • Publication number: 20160027228
Abstract: A compactor/baler for compacting materials includes a frame defining a compacting chamber, a platen movably mounted to the frame, a loading gate movably mounted to the frame and a control panel including a biometric reader having a biometric scanner. The platen is movable within the compacting chamber and the loading gate is movable from a closed position blocking access to the compacting chamber and-an open position exposing the compacting chamber. The control panel is actuable between a locked configuration and an operational configuration. The biometric reader is designed to accept a biometric attribute of a user and to actuate the controller between the locked and operational configurations. The biometric reader actuates the controller to the operational configuration if the biometric attribute matches a stored biometric attribute. The control panel prevents the loading gate from moving to the open position when the controller is in the locked configuration.
