Patent number: 8285579Abstract: A method and system for enabling an automatic determination and allocation of product support resources. The automated process allocates support resources based on a combination of product and market requirements and historical data on resources used by similar products in similar markets. Projects requiring a support infrastructure are algorithmically classified by a combination of product complexity metrics and target market maturity metrics. Then, support infrastructure requirements are calculated based on the combined classification along with historical usage records for similarly classified products. The classification and allocation process is automated so that a product (or multiple products competing for available resources) can self-provision/request its resource requirement as a part of the product development and go-to-market process.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2004Date of Patent: October 9, 2012Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Lisbeth Ann Dineen, Verlyn Mark Johnson, John Edward Laskowski, Janet Rooney Olausen, Clark Lewis Roscher, Christina Anne Stockey

Publication number: 20070170244Abstract: An automated banking machine includes a mechanism for accepting deposited items. Deposited items can be provided to the machine in envelopes passed out of the machine to a user. An empty envelope in an envelope holding container (132) is passed through a transport (124) and presented to the user through an opening (244). The user can insert deposit items in the presented envelope. The envelope containing inserted deposited items can then be placed by the user back through the opening (244), causing it to be stored in a deposit-holding container (128). The machine also includes a printer that can print transaction indicia on a deposited envelope. A wiper comprising a resilient squeegee is able to remove excess ink from nozzles of the printer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2007Publication date: July 26, 2007Applicant: Diebold Self-Service Systems division of Diebold, IncorporatedInventors: Sean Haney, Jeffery Enright, Jeffrey Eastman, Franklin Theriault, R. Publication number: 20070102863Abstract: An automated banking machine (10) includes a user interface (12) including an opening (20). Users of the machine deliver individual sheets and stacks of sheets to and from the machine through the opening. Stacks of sheets may include sheets such as notes, checks or other documents. Stacks input to the machine may include mixtures of various types of sheets. The machine operates to receive notes, process checks and perform other operations. Notes received in the machine may be recycled and dispensed to other users. Checks processed by the machine may be imaged by an imaging device, cancelled and stored in the machine or alternatively returned to a user.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2005Publication date: May 10, 2007Applicant: Diebold, IncorporatedInventors: Paul Burns, Thomas Phillips, John Valcore, H. Publication number: 20070080215Abstract: A cash dispensing automated banking machine includes a card reader associated with a card slot. An anti-fraud sensing device is able to sense ambient light or generated radiation that passes to the sensing device through the card reader slot. The installation of an unauthorized card reading device on the machine changes at least one property sensed by the sensing device. A controller in the machine receives signals from the sensing device, and determines if an unauthorized card reading device has been installed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2006Publication date: April 12, 2007Applicant: Diebold Self-Services Systems, division of Diebold, IncorporatedInventors: Natarajan Ramachandran, Jeffery Enright, Dale Blackson, Edward Laskowski, Carole Laskowski
