  • Patent number: 7011132
Abstract: An environmental strip curtain holding apparatus for suspending a plurality of flexible transparent strips forming a curtain includes a bar suitable for mounting to fixed structure adjacent to a location requiring the presence of a strip curtain. A plurality of pegs are coupled to the bar, each peg including a stalk extending outwardly from the bar. A cap is fixed to a distal end of the stalk spaced by a pre-selected distance from the bar. Each cap is generally symmetric with respect to the stalk to which the cap is fixed and has an outermost edge that is ovate to circular. The outermost edge of the cap is sized greater than the stalk to which the cap is fixed and greater than supporting holes in the strips forming the strip curtain.

  • Patent number: 6946184
Abstract: A desk chair mat has a substantially planar upper surface suitable for interaction with a chair support structure, a perimeter defining an outer edge of the mat, a lower surface parallel to the upper surface. An array of blunt projections extends downwardly from the lower surface for engagement with a carpet. Each blunt projection has a smooth end surface spaced below the lower surface by a distance sufficient to penetrate into the carpet pile. The array is generally a regular pattern of the blunt projections arranged at an angle with respect to each nearest neighbor to provide resistance to any lateral movement of the mat with respect to the carpet.

  • Patent number: 6942112
Abstract: A display rack includes a plurality of vertical rods having lower and upper ends. A plurality of inwardly directed arms have inner ends and have outer ends that are connected adjacent to the upper ends of the vertical rods. A core member joins the inner ends of the inwardly directed arms together. At least one horizontal loop is fixed adjacent to outer ends of the inwardly directed arms. Apparatus can maintain the lower ends of the vertical rods in fixed relation to each other. Each horizontal loop can include a plurality of downwardly depending hooks. Desk chair mats can be suspended from the horizontal loop, preferably by the hooks. An upstanding cylindrical graphics-bearing surface can be supported upon the inwardly directed arms. The rack can be supported on a rotatable base.

  • Patent number: 6834846
Abstract: Webbing for use in fencing includes a plurality of longitudinally extending and substantially vertically aligned high-tensile strength core members including at least one electrically conductive wire. A solid plastic sheath encases each of the core members and a plurality of plastic webs extends between adjacent pairs of core members. The plastic sheath, which encases the electrically conductive wire core member, includes sufficient electrically conductive filler to permit passage of electrical charges from the electrically conductive wire to an outer surface of the sheath. The plastic sheath encasing the electrically conductive wire core member can have a color contrasting with the plurality of plastic webs. The webbing outer surface has a pattern of ridges or grooves arranged to simulate a weathered wood surface.

  • Publication number: 20040226229
Abstract: A desk chair mat has a substantially planar upper surface suitable for interaction with a chair support structure, a perimeter defining an outer edge of the mat, a lower surface parallel to the upper surface. An array of generally blunt projections extends downwardly from a first area of the lower surface for engagement with a carpet. An image is formed within a second area of the lower surface. Each blunt projection has a smooth end surface spaced below the lower surface by a distance sufficient to penetrate into the carpet pile. The array is generally a regular pattern of the projections that can be arranged at an angle with respect to each nearest neighbor to provide enhanced resistance to lateral movement of the mat with respect to the carpet to protect the image from abrasion.

  • Publication number: 20040210175
Abstract: A foot rest is formed by a thick-walled, preferably blow molded, container for containing a thermally therapeutic liquid with an upper surface configured to facilitate the massage of the feet. The container foot rest includes a neck portion having a mouth to fill the container and a closure. The container also has a shoulder portion expanding outward from the neck portion that can support a handle. A body portion of the container has a lower generally planar side forming a base of the foot rest. An upper side can be domed or curved in a cylindrical arc, and includes an array of outward projections. The lower surface includes a substrate gripping feature for gripping a carpet or floor. The foot rest can be used in either a sitting or standing position and is inexpensive to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 6783031
Abstract: A two-piece dispensing cap for a container has a body and an insert mounted for rotation within the body. The body has a sidewall defining a cylindrical chamber with an open first end and an end wall forming a partially closed second end. The body sidewall has an inlet while the body end wall has an axial opening, a non-axial outlet, and a protruding flange for attachment to a container mouth. The insert is received into open first end of the cylindrical chamber. The insert has a peripheral wall dimensioned to conform to the cylindrical housing interior surface and a first insert end wall including a protruding handle extending through the axial opening in the body end wall. The insert includes openings to permit filling of the insert from the container and dispensing of the contents of the insert. An insert second end wall is integrally formed with a hinge to the insert peripheral wall while an over-cap is integrally formed with a hinge to the body portion.

  • Publication number: 20030218162
Abstract: A fence spool core member has a slot having an open end to permit straddling of a flexible member. A niche adjacent the core open end receives a flange web to trap the flexible fence member in the slot. Torque couplings on the flanges permit rotational displacement of the core in relation to the flexible member. The end flanges include a plurality of peripheral openings that receive pins to retain any rotational displacement of the core in relation to the flexible fence member trapped in the core slot to remove slack from the flexible fence member.

  • Patent number: 6648305
Abstract: A tensioner device for applying tension to a flexible fence slat includes a bracket assembly having attachment webs for attachment to a fence post and a pair of vertically spaced, horizontally oriented flanges. A tensioning cylinder is mounted for rotation within a pair of apertures provided, respectively, in the horizontally oriented flanges, the tensioning cylinder formed with a through-slot extending longitudinally between a pair of radial flanges. The through-slot has a length substantially equal to a width of the flexible fence slat and adapted to receive one end of the fence slat. A ratchet wheel is formed at one end of the cylinder, between one of the radial flanges and one of the horizontally oriented flanges, and a pawl is pivotably mounted on the adjacent one of the horizontally oriented flanges for engagement with the ratchet so as to permit rotation of the tensioning cylinder in a tensioning direction but to prevent rotation of the tensioning cylinder in an opposite direction.
