  • Publication number: 20250011852
Abstract: Microfluidic paper-based analytical methods and devices are disclosed. In one implementation, a method includes applying a gas flow to a first spot of a porous or fibrous membrane for fluorescent detection assay to generate an enriched substance underneath the first spot in the porous or fibrous membrane, controlling the gas flow such that the enriched substance causes a fluorescent intensity change in the porous or fibrous membrane, and performing a fluorescent detection readout based on the fluorescent intensity change.

  • Patent number: 12116267
Abstract: A micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) device includes a mirror; at least one hinge; an electrostatic comb structure; and a control device. The control device causes, for a period of time, a voltage to be supplied to the electrostatic comb structure to cause the electrostatic comb structure to tilt the mirror about the at least one hinge in a particular direction. The control device causes, after the period of time and at an instant of time, the voltage to cease being supplied to the electrostatic comb structure. A tilt angle of the mirror, at the first instant of time, is less than a maximum tilt angle of the mirror in the particular direction. An angular momentum of the mirror, at the instant of time, is greater than zero kilogram meters squared per second in the particular direction.

  • Patent number: 11906852
Abstract: In some implementations, a liquid crystal on silicon panel includes a backplane with an electrical contact formed on the backplane, a first alignment layer disposed on the backplane and interfacing with the electrical contact, a conductive layer that is light transmissive, a second alignment layer disposed on the conductive layer, and a plurality of beads in an electrically-conductive adhesive between the first alignment layer and the second alignment layer. Electrically-conductive particles within the electrically-conductive adhesive may make the electrically-conductive adhesive electrically-conductive. A first set of the electrically-conductive particles may puncture the first alignment layer to contact the electrical contact, and a second set of the electrically-conductive particles may puncture the second alignment layer to contact the conductive layer. An electrical connection of the electrical contact and the conductive layer may be via a plurality of the electrically-conductive particles.

  • Patent number: 11446556
Abstract: A lightweight compression molded multicolor golf grip having at least a first section and a second section of differing colors and composed of elastomer compounds joined by cross-linking across a sharply defined cross-color interface having an interface transition zone beyond which there is no mixing of the colors. The grip has a soft feel and unique compression characteristics achieved in some embodiments through the controlled use of an expanding blowing agent in a rubber compound. Achieving the sharply defined cross-color interface is due in part to the use of complementary geometries at opposing interface edges to increase the stability of the interface and reduce the flow during molding associated with the increased viscosity of low density rubber compounds, promote cross-linking of the sections, and better distribute and control the consolidation pressure.

  • Publication number: 20220240861
Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for classifying SpO2 levels using smartphones are described. A wideband light source (e.g., a flash) may be used to illuminate a finger. A wideband imaging sensor (e.g., a camera) may be used to capture images of the illuminated finger. The smartphone may apply per-color channel gain adjustments to the captured images. The adjusted pixel data may be used as the basis of input to a classifier (e.g., a deep learning model). The classifier may be trained on ground truth data, such as from an induced hypoxia study. The classifier may output an SpO2 level blood in the finger.

  • Publication number: 20200406113
Abstract: A flexible tubular implement grip with a first section formed of elastomeric material having a first set of properties and a second section having a second different set of properties. An annular interface member is disposed between and abutted and bonded to the first and second section on opposite sides of the interface member. The interface member is fitted on a core bar and inserted therewith in a mold. The materials of different properties are then disposed concurrently in the mold, either for compression molding or by injection and cured in a single molding operation. The interface member may have grooves on the inner or outer periphery to provide positive interlocking engagement of the elastomeric material with the interface member.
