  • Publication number: 20190335189
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for reducing latency when consuming an encoded video bitstream in real-time are disclosed. A video encoder encodes a video bitstream and writes chunks of the encoded bitstream to a bitstream buffer. Prior to the encoder completing the encoding of an entire frame, or an entire slice of a frame, a consumer module consumes encoded chunks of the bitstream. In one implementation, to enable pipelining of the consumption with the encoding, the encoder updates a buffer write pointer with an indication of the amount of data that has been written to the bitstream buffer. The consumer module retrieves encoded data from the bitstream buffer up to the location indicated by the buffer write pointer. In this way, the consumer module is able to access and consume encoded video data prior to the encoder finishing encoding an entire frame or an entire slice of the frame.

  • Patent number: 10452554
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods of adaptively controlling a cache operating voltage are provided that comprise receiving indications of a plurality of cache usage amounts. Each cache usage amount corresponds to an amount of data to be accessed in a cache by one of a plurality of portions of a data processing application. The plurality of cache usage amounts are determining based on the received indications of the plurality of cache usage amounts. A voltage level applied to the cache is adaptively controlled based on one or more of the plurality of determined cache usage amounts. Memory access to the cache is controlled to be directed to a non-failing portion of the cache at the applied voltage level.

  • Patent number: 10417703
Abstract: A method for imposing spending limits includes: storing data related to a payment account; receiving a spending limit request from a consumer associated with the account, the request including a spending target and spending category; generating a budget including a starting spending limit and two or more periods of time; applying, to the account, a spending limit, such that a value of transactions funded by the account during a first period of time and related to the spending category cannot exceed the applied spending limit, wherein the applied spending limit is the starting spending limit; decreasing the applied spending limit after the first period of time, such that transactions funded by the account during a second period of time cannot exceed the decreased applied spending limit; and repeating the decreasing step until the applied spending limit is equal to the spending target.

  • Patent number: 10412049
Abstract: A packet interceptor monitors GTP traffic for control signaling and data plane traffic. The interceptor reroutes a packet by modifying its IP addresses and forwards the packet to a packet data network gateway server. The server receives the GTP-U packet, performs identification based on the synchronized GTP session information, decapsulates the GTP tunnel information from the GTP-U packet and sends to either a proxy server or the destination application server directly. The proxy server performs message filtering, stores packet contents into storage and forwards the packet out to the destination application server. The filtering function of the proxy server can be trained and enhanced with machine learning algorithms. Thus, the proxy server can automatically detect the traffic type and allow or block the packet based on the detection result.

  • Patent number: 10404825
Abstract: Refresh requests are received by a data source that each request a snapshot of current members of one of a plurality of dynamically changing groups and dynamically changing rules corresponding to such group. Thereafter, the data source queues the received plurality of refresh requests for selective execution or deletion into a new request queue. In addition, real-time execution of refresh jobs are initiated for all of queued refresh requests if a number of refresh requests in both of the new request queue and a waiting requests queue is below a pre-defined threshold. Alternatively, a job framework schedules execution of task jobs for a subset of the queued requests in the new request queue and the waiting requests queue if certain conditions are met.

  • Publication number: 20190268622
Abstract: An encoder encodes pixels representative of a picture in a multimedia stream, generates a first approximate signature based on approximate values of pixels in a reconstructed copy of the picture, and transmits the encoded pixels and the first approximate signature. A decoder receives a first packet including the encoded pixels and the first approximate signature, decodes the encoded pixels, and transmits a first signal in response to comparing the first approximate signature and a second approximate signature generated based on approximate values of the decoded pixels. If a corrupted packet is detected, the multimedia application requests an intra-coded picture in response to the first approximate signature differing from the second approximate signature. The second signal instructs the decoder to bypass requesting an intra-coded picture and to continue decoding received packets in response to the first approximate signature being equal to the second approximate signature.

  • Patent number: 10369378
Abstract: Various systems and methods are implemented for controlling stimulus of a cell. One such method is implemented for optical stimulation of a cell expressing an NpHR ion pump. The method includes the step of providing a sequence of stimuli to the cell. Each stimulus increases the probability of depolarization events occurring in the cell. Light is provided to the cell to activate the expressed NpHR ion pump, thereby decreasing the probability of depolarization events occurring in the cell.

The method comprises receiving a notification from a job scheduler that an execution time for a job registered with the job scheduler is at or before a first time being a current time. The method also comprises identifying, in response to receiving the notification, at least one task from a task data structure with a target runtime that is at or before the first time. The task data structure stores task data for one or more tasks received from one or more client computers, and the task data associates each of the one or more tasks with a target runtime. The method further comprises initiating execution for each of the at least one task and determining whether there is a specific task from the task data structure with a specific target runtime after the first time.

  • Patent number: 10368087
Abstract: A processing apparatus is provided that includes an encoder configured to encode current frames of video data using previously encoded reference frames and perform motion searches within a search window about each of a plurality of co-located portions of a reference frame. The processing apparatus also includes a processor configured to determine, prior to performing the motion searches, which locations of the reference frame to reload the search window according to a threshold number of search window reloads using predicted motions of portions of the reference frame corresponding to each of the locations. The processor is also configured to cause the encoder to reload the search window at the determined locations of the reference frame and, for each of the remaining locations of the reference frame, slide the search window in a first direction indicated by the location of the next co-located portion of the reference frame.

  • Publication number: 20190187175
Abstract: The illustrative embodiments pertain to a test fixture having low insertion inductance for large bandwidth monitoring of current signals. In one exemplary embodiment, the test fixture includes a baseplate with each resistor of a set of resistors embedded inside a respective non-plated through slot in the baseplate. A first terminal of each resistor is soldered to a top metallic zone of the baseplate and a second terminal soldered to a first of two bottom metallic zones of the baseplate. The top metallic zone is connected by plated-through holes to a second of the two bottom metallic zones. When mounted upon a PCB, the test fixture allows current flow from the first bottom metallic zone, upwards through the set of resistors to the top metallic zone, and downwards to the second bottom metallic zone. An observation instrument may be coupled to a coaxial connector that is mounted on the baseplate.
