    Abstract: In a camera having an aperture and a shutter of the type having opening blades and closing blades operable sequentially to make an exposure, an opening member for actuating the opening blades is releasably coupled to a driving member which is spring biased in a direction to move the opening blades to open position to initiate an exposure. A spring bias is also applied to a closing member for actuating the closing blades in a direction to close the camera aperture and thereby terminate the exposure. As the closing blades approach closed position, the closing member actuates the connecting member so as to release the opening member from the driving member and also engages the opening member so as to move it in a direction to return the opening blades toward set or aperture-closing position.

    Abstract: In a focal plane camera shutter of the type having opening blades and closing blades which are actuated sequentially to provide an exposure, the opening blades are operated by an operating member which is biased in a direction to move the blades to aperture-closing position. The opening blades are moved to open position when the shutter is released by a driving member which is biased in a direction to open the blades and is releasably connected to the operating member by a connecting member. At approximately the termination of the exposure, the connecting member is actuated to release the blade operating member from the driving member whereupon they are moved by the aforementioned bias to closed position. The camera is then reset by moving the driving member to its set position whereupon the connecting member again connects the driving member with the blade operating member.

    Abstract: A camera shutter having an aperture, shutter opening blades which travel from a position covering the aperture to a rest position uncovering the aperture to initiate exposure, and shutter closing blades which travel from a position away from the aperture to a position covering the aperture to terminate exposure, and a shutter blade stabilizing device. The stabilizing device includes an elastic member for frictionally pressing at a leading portion of the shutter opening blades at which the driving force is applied to the blades, when the blades are at the rest position, and a member for pressing against the shutter opening blades at a trailing portion of the blades at a portion where the driving force is applied, when the shutter opening blades are at the rest position. The elastic member and the member for pressing together prevent movement of the shutter opening blades when they are at the rest position.

    Abstract: A shutter having two groups of shutter blades. One group of shutter blades opens the shutter and a second group of blades closes the shutter. A shutter-opening actuation member releasably locked by a locking pawl when the shutter is cocked, actuates the shutter-opening group of shutter blades for taking an exposure. A shutter-closing actuation member releasably locked by a second locking pawl actuates the shutter-closing group of shutter blades for completing the taking of an exposure. An electromagnet in an exposure control circuit is energized during the taking of an exposure and deenergized to control the exposure time and terminate the exposure. A control member that controls the release of the control member by its locking pawl is biased by a single spring.

    Abstract: A camera shutter having a plurality of shutter blades operable from a shutter-closing operative position to a shutter-opening operative position and back to the shutter-closing operative position. An opening driving lever and a closing driving lever are provided for operating the shutter blades to their operative positions. A rebound preventing arrangement is provided by providing pins fixed on the opening and driving levers and making provision on a cocking lever for holding the driving levers from rebounding upon reaching their terminal operating positions in activating the shutter blades in opening and closing the shutter. The pins on the driving levers are engaged at these terminal positions by the locking lever and releasably held to preclude rebounding thereby to preclude rebounding of the shutter blades.
