  • Patent number: 5269366
Abstract: Two kinds of molten steels are poured into a continuous casting mold. Direct current magnetic flux is applied which direct current magnetic flux extends in a direction transverse to the thickness (corresponding to the thickness of a casting slab) of the poured content at a position of a certain height of the mold. The molten steels are supplied above and below a boundary of static magnetic fields formed by the direct current magnetic flux longitudinally or in a casting direction. When a difference (.DELTA..rho.) between a density .rho..sub.1 of the molten steel for an outer layer supplied above the static magnetic fields and a density .rho..sub.2 of the molten steel for an inner layer supplied below the static magnetic fields, is expressed by .DELTA..rho.=.rho..sub.1 -.rho..sub.2 (g/cm.sup.3), a density (tesla) of the direct current magnetic flux is determined by the following formula:a) in case of .DELTA..rho.<0B.gtoreq.[2.83.times.(.DELTA..rho.).sup.2 +1.68.times..DELTA..rho.+0.30]b) in case of 0.ltoreq.

  • Patent number: 5198839
Abstract: An electrostatic recording apparatus includes a magnet roll for conveying a developing agent along a predetermined developing agent convey path. A plurality of recording electrodes are arranged to oppose the magnet roll and along the developing agent convey path. An opposite electrode has a portion opposing the plurality of recording electrodes and is arranged with a predetermined gap from the plurality of recording electrodes. A voltage applying unit applies a recording voltage corresponding to supplied dot recording information to each of the plurality of recording electrodes to generate a transferring electric field for transferring the developing agent to the opposite electrode between the opposite electrode and the plurality of recording electrodes, thereby forming a dot recording image corresponding to the dot recording information on the opposite electrode.

  • Patent number: 5196890
Abstract: An electrostatic recording apparatus includes a developing agent carrier member arranged along a predetermined developing agent convey path. A developing agent conveying section conveys a developing agent along a surface of the developing agent carrier member. A plurality of recording electrodes are arranged on the surface of the developing agent carrier member at a predetermined pitch. An opposite electrode is arranged to oppose the plurality of recording electrodes at a predetermined gap. A voltage applying section applies a voltage corresponding to recording information to each of the plurality of recording electrodes to selectively transfer the developing agent, which is conveyed along the surface of the developing agent carrier member, to the opposite electrode. The developing agent carrier member has a step at a portion on its surface shifted to an upstream side of a developing agent convey direction from a position closest to the opposite electrode.

  • Patent number: 4868033
Abstract: Laminates comprising a film of heat-shrinkable synthetic resin and a metallic foil or metallized plastic film laminated to the resin film through a bonding layer which comprises a discontinuous layer of a synthetic resin which flows at a temperature for heat shrinkage and an adhesive layer which maintains its adhesive strength at that temperature. Upon heat shrinkage, the metallic foil or metallized plastic film will wrinkle at the portions in contact with the synthetic resin which is not highly adhesive at the temperature for heat shrinkage. The heat-shrunk laminate can be formed into a casing or container such as an electromagnetic interference shield, a packaging material, and decorative material.

  • Patent number: 4828015
Abstract: A method of producing a composite metal material such as clad bloom by continuous casting comprises the steps of supplying molten metals of different compositions by using two immersion nozzles into the strand pool at different positions and forming a static magnetic field zone on the boundary between the two types of metals to prevent mixing of the metals of different composition. The method enables production of a composite material exhibiting a sharp boundary between the two types of metals used and enables the thickness of the respective metal layers to be easily controlled by adjusting the location of application of the static magnetic field or the withdrawal speed of the strand of cast metal.

  • Patent number: 4302786
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the stop of a magnetic tape traveling in a magnetic recording and reproducing device which carries out a plurality of functional modes and in which the magnetic tape travels at a speed corresponding to a selected functional mode, wherein a pulse generator produces one pulse per rotation of a magnetic tape-driving section. A time interval between the respective pulses issued from said pulse generator is determined from a number of reference pulses having a reference frequency which are delivered from a reference pulse generator and are later counted by a counter. A longer traveling time of a magnetic tape than that specified for the different functional modes is preset in a numeral code generator in the form of a numeral code. When the traveling time of a magnetic tape is found to be longer than that present for a selected functional mode, a detection signal based on an output count from the counter is issued to judge whether the magnetic tape has ceased to run.

  • Patent number: 4298050
Abstract: In the continuous casting of steel, it has been possible to produce killed steel industrially, but semikilled and rimmed steel have not been successfully produced due to rimming action occurring in the oscillating mold. The present invention involves a concept of suppressing the nuclei of bubbles which will later grow into CO bubbles. In order to suppress the nuclei of bubbles and to form a non-defective solidification layer of a continuously cast strand, the present invention provides a combination of: a free oxygen concentration of from 50 to 200 ppm in the molten steel; a concave shape at the short sides of the mold; a propulsion forces of the molten steel directed along the long sides of the mold in directions opposite to one another; subjecting a solidification interface to an electromagnetic flow having a speed of from 0.1 to 1.

  • Patent number: 4189717
Abstract: A synchronous control apparatus in a multi-circuit system is provided with a first circuit which operates receiving a constant power supply and a second circuit which operates receiving a power supply at need, with a plurality of operation modes. The operation mode of the first or second circuit is selected by a mode selection circuit. When the mode selection circuit selects another operation mode, a synchronous control circuit provided in the first circuit transfers an initializing signal in synchronism with the first circuit to the second circuit. The second circuit is initialized in synchronism with the first circuit.
