  • Patent number: 7544888
Abstract: An electrical junction box can be used as both a watertight type and a nonwatertight type by improving a fitting structure between a cover and a casing and restricting the cover and casing from rattling even in the nonwatertight configuration in which a rubber packing is not mounted on the box. An electrical junction box that can be used as a watertight type and a nonwatertight type includes a casing and a cover. Terminals connected to ends of electrical wires may be contained in the casing. The electrical wires may be drawn out from a bottom of the casing. An electrical element may be detachably connected to the casing through an upper opening in the casing to be coupled to the terminals. The cover is joined to the casing. A pair of clearance-filling ribs, which have recessed configuration in section, project from one side of a peripheral wall of the cover toward the casing. The casing is provided on an outer surface with fitting ribs adapted to engage the clearance-filling ribs.

  • Publication number: 20070066097
Abstract: In a fuse connection box, a pair of terminal fittings is inserted through one end of a housing and a fuse is inserted from the other end of the housing to connect input and output terminals of the fuse with a pair of the terminal fittings. The housing includes a pair of partitioning walls spaced from each other at a certain interval. A pair of terminal accommodation chambers are surrounded by the partitioning walls and a peripheral wall of the housing. A pair of lances, to be locked to locking portions of the terminal fittings, is provided at distal ends of a pair of the partitioning walls. A reinforcing connection frame connects a pair of the partitioning walls to each other, and may strengthen the partitioning walls against deformation and/or help reduce entry of water into the housing. A flexing restraining rib projects from an upper surface of the reinforcing connection frame, to prevent excessive deformation of the frame.

  • Publication number: 20070054546
Abstract: A pair of partitioning walls is formed inside a terminal accommodation space from an opening formed at one end of a fuse connection box to partition the space inside the fuse connection box into a pair of terminal accommodation chambers. A pair of lances to be locked to locking portions of terminal fittings is formed on distal ends of the partitioning walls. A guide groove for guiding an insertion direction of an unlocking jig is formed on an inner surface of a peripheral wall surrounding an accommodation chamber in a range from a distal end of a fuse insertion opening to positions of the lances. The unlocking jig is inserted into the fuse connection box along the guide groove. Thereby, an insertion direction of the unlocking jig and an insertion amount thereof are restricted. The unlocking jig flexes the lances to such an extent as to unlock the terminals from the lances.

Abstract: An electrical junction box for a motor vehicle includes a casing, a pair of bus bars accommodated in and secured to the casing with the bus bars being exposed outward, and a fusible link having a link body, an input terminal and an output terminal that extend from the opposite sides of the link body. The input and output terminals are secured to the bus bars by bolts, respectively. The input and output terminals of the fusible link are provided on the opposite side edges with ribs, respectively. Folding the bus bars forms U-bend portions to contact with outer side surfaces of the ribs. Alternatively, portions that contact side edges of the input and output terminals may be provided on inner surfaces of the casing.

  • Patent number: 7046115
Abstract: A fuse box includes a lower cover and an upper cover mounted on an intermediate case to form a box. A large-capacity fuse having an input terminal and an output terminal projecting in substantially opposite directions from one side surface of a body of the fuse is accommodated sidelong in the box within the lower cover and the upper cover to make a height of the fuse small. This makes the fuse box compact. The fuse box may be directly mounted on a battery by fixedly mounting it to an upwardly projecting batter post. An input-side bus bar to be accommodated in the box and the input terminal are fixed to each other with a screw, with one end of the input-side bus bar overlapping the input terminal. An output-side bus bar to be accommodated in the box and the output terminal are fixed to each other with a screw, with one end of the output-side bus bar overlapping the output terminal. A connection piece rigidly mounts the fuse box to the battery post.
