Abstract: In an information providing system 100, a virtual three-dimensional space (virtual space) is established. Each of users of mobile communication terminals 50 virtually moves in the virtual space by manipulating an avatar representing the user, and obtains advertisement information through electronic signboards. Each of users of information providing terminals 30 places electronic signboards at appropriate positions in the virtual space, and provides announcement information for the users of the mobile communication terminals 50. An information management server 40 manages the announcement information provided by the information providing terminals 30, and generates links each of which lead from advertisement information to other advertisement information. The information management server 40 determines priorities for such links, based on use of advertisement information by the users of the mobile communication terminals 50.

In the to-do data confirmation screen, if the to-do data contains a character string that is an index of a telephone number or an email address in a phonebook data storage area, the character string is linked to the telephone number or the email address.

Abstract: A communications terminal comprises a display, a first storage for storing data, a second storage unit that stores a first and a second information set, the first information set including a first communications address and a communications recipient's name, and the second information set includes a second communications address and a communications recipient's name, a first display controller displays a text string expressed by data stored in the first storage unit; and a second display controller that identifies a name from the second storage unit included in the text string being displayed. When the name is associated with the first communications address, a screen prompts communications to the first communications address, or when the name is associated with the second communications address, a screen prompts communications to the second communications address.

Abstract: In a network system controlling a device at home via a network, a direct access management server easily registering a control device and the controlled device is provided. The direct access management server receives a control device and service management ID acquisition request transmitted by a service server in response to a request from the control device, generates a control device and service management ID for a combination of the control device and a service, stores the control device and service management ID on a storage unit, and transmits the control device and service management ID to the service server. Upon receiving a password acquisition request, the direct access management server generates a controlled device registration password and transmits the controlled device registration password to the control device via the service server.

Abstract: In a DVR recording apparatus, a program and EPG data are received, and the EPG data and a reservation list, which relates to a reservation status of program recording, are stored. In addition, reserved recording, for recording a program in accordance with the reservation list, is carried out. Further, in the DVR, EPG data or the reservation list is transmitted in accordance with a request from a portable telephone. On one hand, in the portable telephone, in accordance with an operation of a user, a request of the EPG data or reservation list is transmitted, and in accordance with the request, the EPG data or reservation list transmitted from the DVR is received. Then, the EPG data or reservation list is presented in the portable telephone to a user.
