  • Patent number: 10037651
Abstract: Disclosed is a gaming system including a gaming machine. In response to a triggering event, the gaming system initiates play of a feature game including a plurality of standard symbols and value symbols, the value symbols being associated with one or more values. Value symbols adjacent to one another are combined into a larger composite symbol and held in place on a display device, the standard symbols then replaced with replacement symbols randomly selected from the standard and value symbols. When the replacement symbols include another value symbol adjacent to the composite symbol, the new value symbol is also combined with the composite symbol, increasing its size. At the conclusion of the feature game, a reel associated with the composite symbol is displayed and spun to select an award from a set of possible awards based on the size of the composite symbol.

  • Publication number: 20180002611
Abstract: A crude distillation and refining process and apparatus enables modular supply of the crude distillation column. Crude oil may be heated and then separated into only two liquid products in the crude distillation column. The separation between the light and heavy products may be controlled by the overhead product flow rate. Heat is recovered from an overhead stream and a bottoms stream by pre-heating the incoming crude oil stream by heat exchange with overhead stream and the bottoms stream. In an embodiment, a diesel-range distillate fraction may be condensed from an overhead stream in a first heat exchanger and a naphtha-range fraction may be condensed from the gas stream uncondensed by the first heat exchanger in a second heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20170372558
Abstract: Disclosed is a gaming system including a gaming machine primarily dedicated for use in playing at least one regulated casino wagering game. In response to a triggering event, the gaming system initiates play of a feature game including a plurality of standard symbols and value symbols, the value symbols being associated with one or more values. One or more of the value symbols are held in place in a group on a display device, the standard symbols then replaced with respective replacement symbols randomly selected from the plurality of standard and value symbols. In response to the replacement symbols including another value symbol, the value symbol is added to the group and at least one of the values of the symbols previously in the group is modified. An award based on the current cumulative value of the held value symbols is determined at the conclusion of the feature game.

  • Publication number: 20170215909
Abstract: A surgical method in one method includes making an opening in the skin of a patient having an orthopedic condition involving a nerve pathology producing pain, positioning an instrument in the opening, the instrument having first and second substantially opposed arcuate arms, each arm having a concave inside surface so that the arms substantially define a rounded space, and a third component located substantially at a periphery of the rounded space, retaining an internal target tissue comprising a nerve on the instrument, causing an emitter to apply an emission signal upon the retained tissue, causing a detector to receive an evaluation signal from the internal target tissue, wherein the evaluation signal is a tissue response to the emission signal, causing a processor to receive the evaluation signal from the detector, receiving an indicia about the nerve from the processor, and retracting the third component in response to the indicia.

  • Patent number: 9669350
Abstract: A process for adsorbing hydrogen chloride (HCl) from a regeneration vent gas. The regeneration vent gas is cooled from a catalyst regeneration zone. The cooled regeneration vent gas is passed to an adsorption zone that is spaced apart from the catalyst regeneration zone. HCl from the regeneration vent gas is adsorbed onto a sorbent in the adsorption zone to enrich the sorbent with HCl to provide HCl-rich sorbent and deplete HCl from the regeneration vent gas to provide HCl-lean regeneration vent gas. HCl-lean regeneration vent gas is purged as an effluent gas. HCl-rich sorbent is passed from the adsorption zone to a sorbent regeneration zone. HCl from the HCl-rich sorbent in the sorbent regeneration zone is desorbed to provide a regenerated sorbent. The regenerated sorbent is transferred to the adsorption zone.

  • Publication number: 20170084129
Abstract: Presented herein are electronic gaming machines, gaming systems, and logic circuitry for executing wagering game applications. A gaming system is disclosed which includes game-logic circuitry and a regulated gaming machine. The gaming machine includes one or more electronic display devices and one or more electronic input devices coupled to a gaming cabinet. The wagering game includes a skill-based game element and a non-skill based game element. The game-logic circuitry: detects, via an electronic input device, a physical item associated with a monetary value that establishes a credit balance; initiates the wagering game in response to a wager input covered by the credit balance; directs an electronic display device to display an outcome of the casino wagering game, the outcome being influenced by the skill-based game element and/or the non-skill based game element; and receives, via an electronic input device, a cashout input that initiates a payout from the credit balance.

The regeneration vent gas from a regeneration zone is cooled, and the cooled regeneration vent gas is passed to an adsorption zone that is spaced apart from the regeneration zone. HCl from the regeneration vent gas is adsorbed onto a spent catalyst in the adsorption zone to enrich the spent catalyst with HCl to provide HCl-rich spent catalyst and deplete HCl from the regeneration vent gas to provide HCl-lean regeneration vent gas. The HCl-lean regeneration vent gas is purged as an effluent gas. The HCl-rich spent catalyst is passed to the regeneration zone.

  • Patent number: 8726414
Abstract: An article of apparel is disclosed that includes zones with a textile having a structure that changes or is otherwise modified by a physical stimulus, such as the presence of water or a temperature change, to modify a property of the textile. The zones may be along a center back area and side areas of the apparel, and the textile may increase in air permeability when exposed to water. The zones may also be in an upper area of the torso and in a lower back area, and the textile may increase in texture when exposed to water. In some embodiments, slits are formed in the textile.

  • Patent number: 8209793
Abstract: A disposable portable toilet that is efficiently fabricated from foldable stock, such as corrugated cardboard, with minimal waste and adapted with a fluid absorbing inner liner is disclosed. Foldable stock material is formed as a blank sheet having a plurality of fold lines defining multiple panels disposed in side-by-side relation, and a joining tab. Each panel includes a fold-in tab that functions to provide a rim. The blank sheet provides a structure that may be configured to form a support structure that is selectively configurable from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration. An absorbent liner is insertedly received within the support structure. Padding sections are disposed on the liner in proximity to overlay the top rim of the support structure when the liner is received therein thereby providing the device with a padded upper rim. A drawstring functions as a closure member to close the liner after use.

  • Publication number: 20120016818
Abstract: A method and system is described for rapidly classifying a sample of a biological fluid, comprising obtaining a spectrum of the biological fluid in response to excitation of the sample in a specified frequency range, and applying a multivariate classifier to one or more spectral regions of the spectrum to classify the biological sample into one class in a set of classes, the classes comprising at least two disease states having similar clinical symptoms. Methods and systems for developing the classifiers are also described. In one example the classification uses a vibrational spectrometer (5) to provide spectra from serum. The multivariate classifier may run on processor (9) to distinguish between disease states having similar clinical symptoms, such as malaria and cerebral malaria.

  • Publication number: 20110218983
Abstract: In the metadata organization system a metadata classification module dynamically reads metadata organization information, such as, for example, metadata field information, metadata display set information, and metadata category grouping information, from the metadata organization database, reads metadata from a metadata database, and organizes the metadata for display to a user in a graphical user interface. In the graphical user interface, a user may add, delete, and/or modify the metadata in the display. As the user changes the metadata, the metadata database is updated and the user's changes are reflected in the graphical user interface.
