  • Publication number: 20180041377
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product. A first computer device identifies a notifiable management event relating to the first computer device, wherein the first computer device is unable to notify a management device of the notifiable management event via a management network because the first computer device is unable to connect to the management network. The first computer device sends, to a second computer device via a broadcast or multicast communication, an event notification of the notifiable management event. The first computer device receives, from the second computer device via a first unicast communication, an acknowledgement of the event notification, wherein the second computer device is able to connect to the management network. The broadcast or multicast communication and the first unicast communication each use a short-range wireless communications technology.

  • Publication number: 20170161179
Abstract: In an approach to selecting a set of test resources for testing a computer program including untested computer program code, one or more computer processors retrieve a time stamp for an untested computer program code, wherein the time stamp is indicative of a time of generation of the untested computer program code. The one or more computer processors calculate, based, at least in part, on the retrieved time stamp, an accuracy risk factor for the untested computer program code. The one or more computer processors select, based, at least in part, on the calculated accuracy risk factor, a set of one or more test resources from a pool of test resources.

  • Publication number: 20170148242
Abstract: A network lock system and a method for operating the network lock system. The network lock system includes: a battery controller for turning on a microcontroller using power in a battery, in response to a determination by the battery controller that there is enough power in the battery to turn on the microcontroller; the microcontroller after being turned on, for receiving a wireless signal and in response, for generating a lock signal to activate a device adapter; the device adapter for applying a power signal to a lock mechanism, in response to the device adapter having been activated by the lock signal; and the lock mechanism for locking a first lock part to a second lock part together, and for releasing the first lock part locked to the second lock part in response to the lock mechanism having received the power signal from the device adapter.

  • Patent number: 9654976
Abstract: Techniques for authenticating the identity of a caller in a telephone call are disclosed. The device generating the call implements encrypting caller identification information and initiating the telephone call, said initiating comprising providing a voice carrier signal including the caller identification information; and simultaneously providing a data carrier signal including the encrypted caller identification information. The receiving device implements receiving the telephone call; decrypting the encrypted caller identification information at the recipient device; and verifying the identity of at least an unknown caller at the recipient device by at least one of verifying the authenticity of a certificate used to encrypt the caller identification information; and comparing the decrypted caller identification information with the caller identification information from the voice carrier signal. A telephony device implementing such an authentication technique is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9600567
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product handles a query generated by a user of one of multiple local network devices that are coupled to a network. Multiple system queries request states of the local network devices. Query statements, responsive to the system queries and being sent to a wide area network search engine, are intercepted. A natural language query, which is a logical query that is answered by one of the multiple query statements, is generated from one of the multiple query statements. An unstructured query, from a user, about a state of a particular device is received. The unstructured query from the user is compared with the natural language query in order to determine if a match between the query from the user with the natural language query exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20160364310
Abstract: In an approach for managing a set of tests to run on a set of platforms, a processor identifies a set of tests to run on a set of platforms and one or more priorities associated with the set of tests. A processor sends the set of tests and the one or more priorities associated with the set of tests to the set of platforms. A processor receives information about a first test run of a first test on a first platform of the set of platforms. A processor determines that the first test failed on the first platform. A processor updates the one or more priorities associated with the set of tests. A processor sends the updated one or more priorities associated with the set of tests to at least the second platform.

  • Patent number: 9367620
Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product handles a query generated by a user of one of multiple local network devices that are coupled to a network. Multiple system queries are autonomously issued, by a computer that is coupled to the network, requesting states of the local network devices. Query statements, responsive to the system queries and being sent to a wide area network search engine, are intercepted. A natural language query, which is a logical query that is answered by one of the multiple query statements, is generated from one of the multiple query statements.
