  • Patent number: 11005204
Abstract: A high speed electrical connector assembly includes a mating female connector with sockets and male connector with pins. The female connector includes a connector body formed to define a mount face surface and contact face surface and one or more apertures extending therebetween. One or more sockets are positioned in the connector body apertures. The socket includes a mount portion and a pin receiving portion and the mount portion is configured for engaging an internal surface of the aperture proximate the mount face surface for securing the socket in the aperture. The pin receiving portion is maintained in a free-floating position away from the internal surface of the aperture with a tip end of the pin receiving portion being positioned below the contact face surface. An air gap is formed in the aperture around the free-floating portion and tip end.

  • Patent number: 10424855
Abstract: A connector lead has a lead terminal that includes a recessed solder wicking restriction area for ensuring that enough solder remains on or near the lead terminal. The lead terminal has a neck portion and a base portion extending from the neck portion. The neck portion has a width that is narrower than the width of the lead. The narrower neck portion defines a recessed solder wicking restriction area that encourages more solder to accumulate on or near the base portion instead of wicking up the lead. The width of the neck portion may also be narrower than the width of the base portion, causing the lead terminal to resemble an inverted “T” when viewed from the front. A band of solder resistive material may be applied circumferentially or laterally around the connector lead above the lead terminal to limit wicking in some embodiments.

  • Patent number: 10069257
Abstract: A coaxial connector includes a body element that has an inner bore configured for receiving a cable having inner and outer conductors. A center conductor element is configured for engaging an inner conductor of the cable. A tubular ground slide extends over the center conductor element and has a front end and rear end with the rear end of the slide engaging the body element for being axially movable on the f the body element. A spring is configured to engage an outer surface of the body element and abut the rear end of the ground slide for biasing the ground slide with respect to the body element. A conductive sleeve has a rear end configured for press fitting onto the body. The sleeve is further configured for capturing the spring and ground slide with the body element and has a plurality of spring fingers at a front end thereof that contact the front end of the movable ground slide for providing electrical connection with the body element.

  • Patent number: 9748691
Abstract: A low-profile, right angle connector assembly comprises six cable connectors and six board-mount connectors housed within a PCIe bracket and EMI shell. The PCIe bracket and EMI shell are braced to a low profile PCIe card. Each board-mount connector is designed to receive a cable connector and allows for the transmission and processing of high-speed data with lower latency. A removable latch mounted on the cable connectors helps ensure the cable connectors remain physically connected to the board-mount connectors. The removable latch may be replaced as needed for breakage and wear and tear.
