    Abstract: A color coated article is formed by applying a color coated material to an injection mold having mold halves, a mold cavity edge and a mold cavity therein for the formation of an injection molded article, and injecting molten plastic into the mold cavity to form a laminated article with the color coated material bonded to the injected plastic. The process uses a color coated blank having a roughened surface, said blank adapted to be placed into at least one mold half and transferring the blank into registry with at least one of the mold halves. The molten plastic is injected against the roughened surface of the blank to enhance bonding of the blank to the injected plastic.

    Abstract: A multilayered container and a process for forming the same are disclosed. The container includes a support wall formed from a plastic having an undesirable substance therein and polymerized to a level less than that necessary to prevent the undesirable substance from migrating from the plastic into the contents when the contents are in contact with the support wall. A protective wall is provided adjacent the support wall and adapted to be positioned between the support wall and the contents. The protective wall is formed from a material which limits the migration of undesirable substance from the support wall into the contents.

    Abstract: A compression molding process for forming an article, preferably a preform or closure, is provided. The process includes the steps of forming thermoplastic resin into a precursor, wherein the precursor fits in a compression mold and has a shape for allowing the precursor to be supported in a predetermined or dimensionally preheld manner in a cavity of the compression mold prior to being compressed into a final shape, which shape is the shape of the compression mold; heating the precursor; and compression molding the precursor into the article while said precursor is heated. The step of forming may include the steps of extruding the resin into sheets; cutting discs from the sheets; and stacking the discs to form the precursors.
