  • Patent number: 8367173
Abstract: Disclosed herein are degradable sachets useful for enclosing a consumer product, such as, for example, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, bar soap, and detergent. The sachets of the invention have a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of less than about ten grams per square meter per day (g/m2/day) at 37° C. and 90% relative humidity (RH), and can disintegrate into pieces sufficiently small to pass through a one millimeter sieve, within two years after first and continuous exposure to water and microorganisms.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 5, 2013
Assignee: The Procter & Gamble Company
Inventors: Andrew Julian Wnuk, Scott Kendyl Stanley, John Moncrief Layman, Robert Earl Magness, Emily Charlotte Boswell, Lee Mathew Arent
  • Publication number: 20130023627
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a composition substantially free of polyethylene, wherein the composition includes a thermoplastic material having certain specified mechanical properties, and about 2 wt. % to about 25 wt. % (based on the total weight of the composition) of an olefin mixture that consists essentially of a 30:70 to 70:30 weight ratio of a homogeneous ethylene-alpha olefin interpolymer and a propylene-based elastomer having at least 75 wt. % units derived from propylene and about 10 wt. % to about 25 wt. % units derived from a C2 or a C4-10 alpha olefin. The specified olefin mixture unexpectedly imparts to the overall composition mechanical properties (such as impact strength, for example) heretofore unattainable. These mechanical properties can be expected to be tailored to suit the end-use expected of the composition.

  • Publication number: 20120288693
Abstract: Disclosed herein are flexible barrier packages composed of materials that are substantially free of virgin, petroleum-based compounds. The flexible barrier packages contain a sealant that has a biobased content of at least about 85%. The sealant is laminated to an outer substrate that has a biobased content of at least about 95% via a tie layer that can further include an extruded substrate. The extruded substrate has a biobased content of at least about 85%. Ink optionally can be deposited on either side of the outer substrate, and the exterior surface of the outer substrate can further include a lacquer. A barrier material layer can be deposited or laminated between the first tie layer and the outer substrate. The flexible barrier packages of the invention are useful for enclosing a consumer product, such as, for example, food, drink, wipes, shampoo, conditioner, skin lotion, shave lotion, liquid soap, bar soap, toothpaste, and detergent.

  • Publication number: 20110206882
Abstract: The present invention relates to a solid preform made from polyethylene material, wherein the preform comprises a neck region, side walls and a base region, and has an interior having inner walls and an exterior having outer walls; characterised in that at least 65% of the polyethylene material by weight of the total polyethylene material has a Z-average molecular weight (Mz) of between 300,000 g/mol and 6,000,000 g/mol, and a Mz/Mn value of greater than 28, where Mn is the number average molecular weight, and Mz/Mn is the Mz value divided by the Mn value.

  • Publication number: 20040049132
Abstract: A method and device for monitoring a body activity. The device has an actimetry sensor for measuring the activity and storage means for receiving data from the actimetry sensor. The data are analysed according to a method using summation algorithm, where a plurality of parameters relating to the activity are summed to provide advisory information relating to that activity. The analysis may include pre-programmed biasing constants or user supplied biasing constants.
