  • Publication number: 20160233996
Abstract: A cell-specific sounding reference symbol (SRS) subframe configuration and UE-specific SRS configuration are defined for carrier aggregation. For the cell-specific SRS subframe configuration, the same cell-specific SRS subframes are configured for all uplink (UL) carrier components (CCs). For the UE-specific SRS configuration, different configurations are applied for UL CCs. Also, to reduce signaling overhead, the different UE-specific SRS configuration is signaled by using an offset on top of the UE-specific SRS configuration of a primary component carrier (PCC).

  • Patent number: 9356785
Abstract: A method and system for enhanced security for A5/1 encoding, the method including choosing, at a transmitter, bits within a layer 1 header of a slow associated control channel (‘SACCH’) message for randomization; and setting, at the transmitter, the chosen bits randomly prior to channel coding and encryption of the slow associated control channel message. Further the method may include choosing, at a transmitter, a number of bits to toggle after convolution coding of a message containing a slow associated control channel message, the number of toggled bits being sufficiently low to allow correction at a receiver; and toggling, at the transmitter, said bits based on the channel conditions of the message.

  • Patent number: 9331723
Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed for real-time calibration of a tunable matching network that matches the dynamic impedance of an antenna in a receiver. Processing logic is operable to solve multiple non-linear equations to determine the reflection coefficient of the antenna. The tunable matching network is repeatedly perturbed and the power received by the antenna is measured after each perturbation at the same node in the matching network. The measured power values are used by an optimizer in converging to a solution that provides the reflection coefficient of the antenna. The reflection coefficient of the antenna may be used to determine the input impedance of the antenna. The elements of the matching circuit may then be adjusted to match the input impedance of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 9287935
Abstract: A system and method may dynamically (a) adjust signal characteristics of individual portions of a Near Field Communication (“NFC”) transmission, and/or (b) change NFC wireless communication channels. A transmitting device may transmit to a receiving device via multiple NFC channels. For instance, a transmitting device may have multiple spatially-separated antennas and/or transmitters, and a transmission required to complete a financial transaction (or other wireless communication) with a receiving device may have several portions. Each transmission portion may be sequentially and/or individually transmitted from the transmitting device to the receiving device using a different antenna and/or transmitter, i.e., a different communication channel.
