  • Patent number: 9137477
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for reducing the channel change time in a broadcast television system by encoding a termed companion service in addition to the main service. The companion service is sent along with the original service and helps the receiver to retrieve and display the new service more rapidly during the channel change process. With this solution the service is encoded and streamed in its original format, plus encoded and streamed in a low resolution format.

  • Patent number: 8918830
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for transmitting and a process for receiving update data. According to the invention, the update data are dispatched by a communication center to terminals with the aid of a broadcasting network. Next, the terminals report their update to the center through a bidirectional network. The center renews the campaign or stops the current campaign as a function of the number of terminals updated. When only a minimum number of terminals to be updated remains, the campaign is stopped, the last terminals not updated will be so via the bidirectional link. The invention also relates to the center implementing a dispatch process and the receiver for receiving and processing the update data.

  • Patent number: 8329049
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of fabricating a nanostructure, comprising the following steps: prestructuring a substrate (1) adapted to receive the nanostructure to form a nanorelief (2) on the substrate, the nanorelief having flanks (4) extending from a bottom (1a) of the substrate and a top face (3) extending from said flanks, and then depositing on the substrate pre-structured in this way a single layer or multilayer coating intended to form the nanostructure; and further comprising: adding to the prestructured substrate or to the coating a separation layer adapted to enable separation of the coating and the substrate by external action of mechanical, thermomechanical or vibratory type; and exerting this external action on the substrate and/or the coating to recover selectively a top portion of the coating by separating it from the top face of the nanorelief so that this top portion constitutes some or all of the nanostructure.

  • Publication number: 20120297435
Abstract: A signaling method of video content and services broadcast by to a multitude of reception devices, the contents being encoded into data packets transmitted in a transport stream associated with a signaling stream is disclosed that comprises an insertion step of a unique identifier associated with each of the video contents or services in the signaling stream; an insertion step of the unique identifier into packets of the transport stream transmitting the video content or service corresponding to the unique identifier. Advantageously, the unique identifier is derived from a characteristic of the content among the title of the video content or service, the date and theoretical continuous broadcast time of the video content or service. A method for recording and a recording device using the signaling is further disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120242781
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for navigation in a panoramic video sequence displayed on a user terminal. The video sequence is divided into a plurality of non-overlapping video patches each corresponding to a zone of the video sequence. The video patches required to form a zone of the panoramic video sequence to be displayed on a screen of the user terminal, called the visibility zone, are determined according to navigation commands. According to the invention, the video patches are provided to the user terminal, for one part, via a first transmission network and, for another part, via a second transmission network distinct from said first transmission network.
