    Abstract: In one implementation, a method for a solar cell array is provided, the method includes emitting a communication message from the solar cell array by reverse biasing the solar cell array so as to cause at least a portion of the solar array to emit a detectable amount of radiation corresponding to the communication message. In one embodiment a solar cell array circuit is provided including a solar string comprising a plurality of solar cells coupled together, a charge storage device coupled to a power bus, and a bidirectional boost-buck converter having a first and second pair of MOSFETs connected in series between positive and negative rails of the power bus with an inductor coupled from between the first and second paired MOSFETs to a charging output of the solar string.

    Abstract: A method of modifying a vehicle can include removing an existing fender liner from a wheel well of the vehicle. A cut guide can be aligned with landmarks of a fender of the vehicle. The cut guide can be secured to the fender or a fender flair that is secured to the fender, and the cut guide can be secured to the fender around at least a portion of the wheel well of the vehicle. The fender can be cut along the cut guide to increase a size of the wheel well. A fender liner bracket can be secured to the vehicle. A replacement fender liner can be secured to the fender liner bracket. The replacement fender liner can be secured to an existing bracket of the vehicle.

    Abstract: The invention compensates for abnormal operating temperatures and/or abnormal behaviors of a holographic metasurface antenna (HMA) that is generating a beam based on a holographic function. The HMA is characterized with different holographic functions for a plurality of operating temperatures and a plurality of behaviors during the manufacturing process. The characterization of the HMA identifies different hologram functions that cause the HMA to generate more or less heat or exhibit more or less abnormal behavior while generating equivalent beams. Further, or more characterizations of a hologram function may be performed remotely after the HMA is installed in a real world environment. An operating temperature and/or a temperature gradient may be detected by temperature sensors physically located on a circuit board for the HMA.

    Abstract: Vapor deposition methods and related systems are provided for depositing layers comprising vanadium and oxygen. In some embodiments, the methods comprise contacting a substrate in a reaction space with alternating pulses of a vapor-phase vanadium precursor and a vapor-phase oxygen reactant. The reaction space may be purged, for example, with an inert gas, between reactant pulses. The methods may be used to fill a gap on a substrate surface. Reaction conditions, including deposition temperature and reactant pulse and purge times may be selected to achieve advantageous gap fill properties. In some embodiments, the substrate on which deposition takes place is maintained at a relatively low temperature, for example between about 50° C. and about 185° C.
