  • Publication number: 20240095645
Abstract: A method of generating customizable goal representation is disclosed. A request from a user to view a goal representation is received. A flexible goal ontology is accessed that comprises one or more goal entities, one or more goal relationships between the goal entities, or one or more goal properties, the one or more goal properties including one or more metadata attributes relating to the one or more goal entities. A set of mapping rules is obtained that defines mappings between one or more goals. The set of mapping rules is evaluated to assemble a customized goal representation tailored to the user. The customized goal representation is updated based on a revaluation of the mapping rules affected by changes to the one or more goal entities, the one or more goal relationships, or the one or more properties.

  • Patent number: 11913624
Abstract: A trim accessory and method of its use that attaches or retrofits to an existing recessed light fixture, and directs or restricts emitted light from the lighting fixture to areas or locations desired by the end user. The trim accessory attaches to the trim, and has a tapered annular panel with an outer surface, an inner surface, an outer edge, an annular inner portion, and one or more retainers along the annular inner portion that retain an outer periphery of the outer-extending trim of the recessed lamp, to secure the trim accessory against the ceiling or other surface using the recessed lighting fixture. The tapered annular panel extends outwardly and upwardly against the ceiling, to blend visually into the undersurface of the ceiling.

  • Patent number: 11746678
Abstract: An apparatus configured to support a diffuser segment during removal from and installation into an assembly. The apparatus includes a body having two or more supports and at least two clamp rods. The clamp rods each extend from a first end to a second end. The body defines a pocket extending between the supports on a first side of the clamp rods. An end clamp releasably mates with the second end of each clamp rod. The end clamp has a foot extending into the first side of the clamp rod. A wheel is received within each support. The pocket and the foot of each end clamp releasably retain a diffuser segment and the wheels rotate to allow the diffuser segment to be removed without damaging a surface coating of the diffuser segment.

  • Patent number: 10924186
Abstract: An optical fiber link includes a local host control device including a microcontroller unit transmitting a host transmitting signal, and an electrical-to-optical converter converting the host transmitting signal to a laser beam optical signal; a remote sensor device including a sensor device transmitting a sensor transmitting signal and an optical return module selectively passing or blocking part of the laser beam optical signal; and a fiber cable including an upstream fiber link and a downstream fiber link and establishing communications between the local host control device and the remote sensor device, the laser beam optical signal being delivered from the local host control device to the remote sensor device through the downstream fiber link. The optical return module selectively passes or blocks the part of the laser beam optical signal delivered by the downstream fiber link based on the sensor transmitting signal to the upstream fiber link.

  • Patent number: 10235386
Abstract: A method of creating an electronic travel route includes providing a user interface that includes electronic geographic maps. Routes created by users using the user interface are stored. The routes include mapped electronic routes along which the users have traveled. The method includes receiving geographic information and a request from a requester to create a new route. A set of the routes created is provided to the requester based on the geographic information. Selections of portions of the set of the routes are accepted to create the new route. Based on the new route, a processor of a computer is used to create a set of geographic markers and instructions for traversing the new route. The new route and instructions for traversing the new route are provided based on a search.

  • Patent number: 9875141
Abstract: Computer systems attempt to manage resource pools of a dynamic number of similar resources and work tasks in order to optimize system performance. Work requests are received into the resource pool having a dynamic number of resources instances. An instance-throughput curve is determined that relates a number of resource instances in the resource pool to throughput of the work requests. A slope of a point on the instance-throughput curve is estimated with stochastic gradient approximation. The number of resource instances for the resource pool is selected when the estimated slope of the instance-throughput curve is zero.

  • Patent number: 9088523
Abstract: Server-side control of client-side quality-of-service tracking is provided. When a service is being provided to a client device, a server provides aggregation rules to a client device as part of the service. The client device executes instructions in the aggregation rules to collect QoS metrics regarding the service on the client device and to manipulate the QoS metrics to generate aggregated QoS data. The client device reports the aggregated QoS data to a server for storage and analysis.
