When a service is being provided to a client device, a server provides aggregation rules to a client device as part of the service. The client device executes instructions in the aggregation rules to collect QoS metrics regarding the service on the client device and to manipulate the QoS metrics to generate aggregated QoS data. The client device reports the aggregated QoS data to a server for storage and analysis.

Abstract: A dual layer material adapted to being applied to a vehicle underbody including a panel shaped body formed by a moldable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer joined with a polypropylene and glass composite layer in order to provide at least one of improved wear and abrasion resistance on an outer facing surface and acoustic noise attenuation on an inner vehicle facing surface. The dual layer material can also incorporate a bonding agent for adhering the layers together.

Abstract: A sandbox tool can cooperate with components of a secure operating system to create an isolated execution environment for accessing untrusted content without exposing other processes and resources of the computing system to the untrusted content. The sandbox tool can allocate resources (storage space, memory, etc) of the computing system, which are necessary to access the untrusted content, to the isolated execution environment, and apply security polices of the operating system to the isolated execution environment such that untrusted content running in the isolated execution environment can only access the resources allocated to the isolated execution environment.

Abstract: A system and method for visually transforming an electronic image is provided. The electronic image may be displayed on a high-definition flat display screen and manipulated to appear as a work of art via a layered material. Embodiments include processing the electronic image to provide an electronically pre-filtered image, displaying the pre-filtered image on a display screen, and physically filtering the displayed, pre-filtered image with the layered material to reduce light emission, add texturing, and enhance the passage of a wavelength of light.

An open bottom extension sleeve portion for discharging water from the steam/water conical cyclone separator housing and connected to the lower cylindrical water outlet portion is provided such that the conical vane plate is located at an intermediate location between the upper conical portion and the open bottom extension sleeve portion of the lower cylindrical portion. Extended water level range capability is thus provided while maintaining adequate steam/water cyclone separator performance characteristics.

Abstract: The present invention is configured to provide optimization of printed output transmitted by a facsimile machine. By generating and comparing a baseline quality score with a companion quality score, optimization decisions can enhance the quality of facsimile transmissions. Optimization is also enhanced by recognizing the type of facsimile machine used and the optimal configuration settings for the facsimile. The settings for multiple facsimile machines are stored in a database, along with optimal settings for each facsimile machine. To further enhance the results of a facsimile transmission, a database of printers may also be consulted. By utilizing the best possible output from a printer, combined with the optimal settings for a fax machine, the optimal results for can be obtained. Additionally, the use of bar-coded identification for facsimile transmission provides a method of automating the optimization, thereby increasing efficiency by reporting the results of the optimization.

Abstract: Computer systems attempt to manage resource pools of a dynamic number of similar resources and work tasks in order to optimize system performance. Work requests are received into the resource pool having a dynamic number of resources instances. An instance-throughput curve is determined that relates a number of resource instances in the resource pool to throughput of the work requests. A slope of a point on the instance-throughput curve is estimated with stochastic gradient approximation. The number of resource instances for the resource pool is selected when the estimated slope of the instance-throughput curve is zero.

Abstract: A system and method for organization and analysis of complex and dynamically interactive time series is disclosed. One example comprises a processor based system for relational analysis of physiologic signals for providing early recognition of catastrophic and pathologic events such as pathophysiologic divergence. The processor is programmed to identify pathophysiologic divergence of at least one of first and second physiologic parameters in relationship to the other and to output an indication of the divergence. An object-based method of iterative relational processing waveform fragments in the time domain is described wherein each more complex waveform object inherits the characteristics of the waveform objects from which it is derived. The first physiologic parameter can be the amplitude and frequency of the variation in chest wall impedance or nasal pressure and the second parameter can be a measure or indication of the arterial oxygen saturation.
