  • Patent number: 12648195
Abstract: Techniques are provided herein to form semiconductor devices that have their semiconductor subfins removed and replaced with one or more dielectric materials. A semiconductor device includes a gate structure around or otherwise on a semiconductor region. A lower end of the semiconductor material includes a subfin adjacent to a dielectric layer that acts as shallow trench isolation (STI) between semiconductor devices. A backside process may be performed to remove the bulk substrate and expose a bottom surface of the subfin. The subfin may then be removed from the backside to form backside recesses. A dielectric liner may be formed within the backside recesses and a dielectric fill may be formed within a remaining volume of the backside recesses. Replacing the subfins with dielectric materials may lower parasitic capacitance between the subfins and the gate electrodes as well as reduce parasitic current between adjacent source or drain regions.

  • Publication number: 20260097677
Abstract: Techniques for allocating a load capacity to on-site smart sensors coupled to distributed energy resources (DERs) are described herein. For example, a primary smart sensor may receive, from a utility supplier (e.g., which may include a substation), a maximum load constraint associated with a network of smart utility sensors in an autonomous routing area. The maximum load constraint may be a maximum load and/or maximum capacity that the network of smart utility sensors may collectively operate with by a transformer carrying the load. In some examples, the primary smart sensor may receive utility data from the smart sensors and may determine a total transformer load associated with the transformer that is providing power to the network of smart utility sensors based at least in part on the utility data.

  • Patent number: 12571789
Abstract: Methods of detecting a target analyte in subsurface soil can providing a bacterial consortium embodying a genetic circuit. Such a consortium can include a sensor bacterium, a signal propagation bacterium, and a display bacterium, which are provided at a soil surface. The sensor bacterium and signal propagation can be allowed to migrate into subsurface soil below the soil surface. The sensor bacterium can be exposed to the target analyte in the subsurface soil. The sensor bacterium can produce a signal molecule in response to the presence of the target analyte. The signal propagation bacterium can amplify the signal molecule by producing additional signal molecules in response to the presence of the signal molecule. The display bacterium can produce an observable signal in response to presence of the signal molecule.

  • Publication number: 20250229567
Abstract: A multipurpose device that combines a writing instrument and ruler releasably attached thereto. The core components of the invention are the writing instrument and ruler, which, generally speaking, are configured as follows: the writing instrument is an elongated rigid form with a shallow recess in its outer surface. The ruler is an elongated, thin-walled semi-tubular form that is shaped to substantially fill the respective recess within the outer surface of the writing instrument. During normal use, the ruler may be snapped onto and off the writing instrument or may slide onto and off of the writing instrument.

  • Patent number: 12299749
Abstract: Computer architectures and associated methods for real-time data processing are disclosed. In some embodiments, a trial adjudication request for a cost determination can be received by a first server and verified using a security protocol, wherein a password token of the trial adjudication request can be matched to a stored password token. The first server can transmit an adjudication command packet to a second server that includes at least one data set of a plurality of data sets and a command for a claim determination, and can receive a response packet from the second server. The first server can determine that a successful claim determination was performed by the second server from the response packet, and can transmit a reversal request packet to the second server which can cancel the successful claim determination. The first server can perform the electronic calculation using the claim data.

  • Publication number: 20230291306
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for switch-mode power supply start-up are provided herein. In certain embodiments, a switch-mode power supply includes an inductor and one or more power switches used to control a current through the inductor to provide voltage regulation. The switch-mode power supply uses external voltage levels to regulate one or more internal control signals (for example, for opening or closing the one or more power switches) to their zero output current switching state at the appropriate switch duty cycle. Furthermore, the switch-mode power supply can be implemented to provide a first pulse timing signal to establish the inductor current waveform for zero net output current delivery to a load.
