  • Patent number: 7870079
Abstract: A method of operating an employment system is provided. The method includes enabling a first user associated with an employee seeker to enter a shell for a position and enabling a second user associated with the employee seeker to enter additional information about the position. The second user is distinctly identifiable by the employment system from the first user. The method also includes associating an employment seeker with the position. Alternatively, the method includes categorizing a first set of one or more employment seekers as public and categorizing a second set of one or more employment seekers as participants in a co-operative. The method also includes enabling all employee seekers to access or view information about members of the first set and enabling all employee seekers that are members of the co-operative to access or view information about members of the second set.

  • Patent number: 7805382
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a match-based employment system and method of operation are provided. The match-based employment system collects a plurality of employer seeker and employee seeker profiles, bi-directionally matches the employer seeker and said employee seeker profiles and displays at least a portion of the results to an employer seeker or an employee seeker. The match-based employment system can also order the bi-directional matching results based on a bi-directional match score and display the bi-directional matching results according to the ordering. The match-based employment system can also perform the matching such that approximately 70% of a matching score depends upon the quality of the match between employee seeker desires and employment seeker attributes and approximately 30% of the matching score depends upon the quality of the match between employment seeker desires and employee seeker attributes.

  • Publication number: 20100121733
Abstract: A method includes presenting to a buyer a multi-unit auction, permitting the buyer to bid one or more of a price and a number of units in the auction, and permitting the buyer to re-bid in the auction. The auction includes a rule that prevents the buyer from reducing the price in the re-bid, and the auction further includes a rule that prevents the buyer from reducing the number of units in the re-bid.

  • Patent number: 7667468
Abstract: A capacitive sensor with ratiometric voltage references includes a voltage source, a charge transfer switch, an integrating capacitor, and a comparator. The voltage source is configured to generate a first voltage reference and a second voltage reference in response to a supply voltage, where the first voltage reference changes proportionally to the second voltage reference in response to a change in the supply voltage. The charge transfer switch is coupled to the integrating capacitor to distribute charge between a sensing capacitor and the integrating capacitor, where the charge is accumulated in response to the first voltage reference. The comparator is coupled to the second voltage reference and the integrating capacitor to compare a voltage on the integrating capacitor against the second voltage reference.

  • Patent number: 7664206
Abstract: A radio frequency integrated circuit for a global positioning system (GPS) application mixes radio frequency GPS signals from an external source with a predetermined intermediate frequency that is less than 4fo. In one embodiment, the intermediate frequency is selected to be 1.5fo. An intermediate frequency filter then band-limits the intermediate frequency GPS signals, rolling off at a frequency in the vicinity of 2.5 MHz to achieve substantial attenuation at 3.5-4.0 MHz. An automatic gain control circuit amplifies the filtered intermediate frequency GPS signals to proper voltage levels. The amplified intermediate frequency GPS signals is then digitized by an analog-to-digital converter at a predetermined sampling rate more than twice the intermediate frequency to provide samples of a predetermined number of bits, which are then provided for base band processing by a general purpose microprocessor over an industry-standard serial bus.

  • Patent number: 7651146
Abstract: A vehicle cargo sidewall structure includes a vertical inboard wall panel, a vertical outboard wall panel, door panel and a storage bin. The inboard wall panel includes an access opening. The outboard wall panel extends along side the inboard wall panel to define a side wall structure with a concealed storage space located between the inboard and outboard wall panels. The storage space is accessible via the access opening. The door panel moves between a closed position overlaying the access opening concealing the storage space and an opened position exposing the storage space. The storage bin is coupled to the door panel for movement therewith such that with the door panel in the closed position the storage bin is disposed within the storage space and with the door panel in the opened position the storage bin at least partially extends out of the storage space.

  • Patent number: 7650307
Abstract: A method of allowing a seller in a multi-unit auction facility to offer buyers the option of buying an offering at a pre-auction seller determined price or using a regular auction process. In one embodiment, the option to buy at the pre-auction seller determined price remains throughout the auction as long as there are units of an item remaining that have not yet been bid on. In another embodiment, the duration of an option of purchasing an item at a pre-auction seller determined prices depends on a configurable threshold, the current auction price in relation to the threshold, and whether the unit has been bid on. In another embodiment, a participant in an auction is allowed to re-bid, but is not allowed to reduce the price in that re-bid, or the quantity in that re-bid, unless that participant is currently not winning any units.

Abstract: An employment system provides personal introductions between system users in one embodiment. In one embodiment, the employment system provides qualified employment seekers with enhanced assistance applying for jobs, wherein the enhanced assistance includes sending a personal introduction about the employment seeker to an employee seeker (i.e., on behalf of an employment seeker). The personal introduction may include at least a portion of a human generated message about the employment seeker. In another embodiment, the employment system provides a personal introduction about an employee seeker to an employment seeker (i.e., on behalf of an employee seeker). For example, the personal introduction may include information about the employee seeker such as company showcases that highlight the benefits of working for the employee seeker.

  • Publication number: 20090228297
Abstract: A portable resume system and method collects and stores a user's credentials/attributes (e.g., a job seeker's resume information, skills, or any other suitable data) in a standardized format that can be shared with any individual, entity, or system to streamline the process of applying for jobs. Certain portions of the portable resume system function as a clearinghouse or portfolio for the user's credential's/attributes and enable the user to share any or all of the user's stored data with a plurality of different destinations (e.g., job applicant tracking systems (ATS), online job databases, employment websites, employers, recruiters, individuals, etc. . . . ). If the user shares the user's stored data with a destination that supports the portable resume system, the user can bypass at least part of or all of the destination's registration process. The portable resume system also enables the destination to obtain any updates the user makes to the user's stored data.
