  • Publication number: 20110005475
Abstract: An arrangement for a supercharged combustion engine (2), to prevent ice formation in a cooler (10, 15). The arrangement comprises a low-temperature cooling system with a circulating coolant and a cooler (10, 15) in which a gaseous medium which contains water vapour is cooled by the coolant in the cooling system. An electric circuit with an electric warming unit (28, 28a, 28b) is positioned in contact with the coolant in the second cooling system, a voltage source (36, 36a, 36b) and a circuit-breaker (30, 30a, 30b) which can be placed in a first position whereby it disconnects the warming unit (28, 28a, 28b) and the voltage source (36, 36a, 36b) and in a second position whereby it connects together the warming unit (28, 28a, 28b) and the voltage source (36) so that the warming unit (28, 28b, 28b) receives electrical energy and warms the coolant in the cooling system.

  • Publication number: 20110000446
Abstract: An arrangement for a supercharged combustion engine for preventing ice formation in a cooler. A first cooling system with a circulating coolant. A second cooling system with a circulating coolant which during normal operation of the combustion engine is at a lower temperature than the coolant in the first cooling system. The cooler in which a gaseous medium for the engine and which contains water vapour is intended to be cooled by the coolant in the second cooling system. A heat exchanger. A valve which can be placed in a first position wherein coolant from at least one of the cooling systems is prevented from flowing through the heat exchanger and in a second position wherein coolant from both of the cooling systems flows through the heat exchanger so that the coolant in the second cooling system is warmed by the coolant in the first cooling system.

  • Publication number: 20100218735
Abstract: An arrangement for cooling oil in a gearbox in a vehicle which is powered by a combustion engine, the arrangement including an oil cooler, an oil system configured to circulate oil between the gearbox and the oil cooler, and a coolant circuit configured and operable to lead coolant to the oil cooler. The coolant circuit includes a radiator element for cooling the coolant and a line to lead the cooled coolant from the radiator element to the oil cooler. The coolant circuit has a flow-regulator to regulate the coolant flow through the radiator element for imparting to the coolant a temperature which makes possible a desired cooling of the oil in the oil cooler.

  • Publication number: 20100089088
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cooler arrangement in a vehicle powered by a combustion engine. The cooler arrangement comprises a first cooling element for cooling a first medium in the form of a circulating coolant, and a radiator fan adapted to generating an air flow through the first cooling element for cooling the coolant when it circulates through the first cooling element. The cooler arrangement comprises also a tubular casing adapted to serving as a flow passage for the air which passes through the first cooling element and at least one further cooling element for cooling a second medium, which further cooling element is arranged in the flow passage at a position downstream of the first cooling element with respect to the intended direction of flow of the cooling air through the flow passage.

  • Publication number: 20100006043
Abstract: A cooling arrangement for a vehicle which is powered by a combustion engine. The cooling arrangement includes an air passage through which air flows in a specific direction, and at least three cooling elements to effect cooling of a medium. The three cooling elements are arranged one after another in the air passage such that at least part of the air which flows through the air passage flows successively through all of the cooling elements and cools the media in the respective cooling elements. The cooling elements are arranged one after another in the air passage in a sequence which is related to the temperature of the media in the respective cooling elements such that the air which flows through the cooling elements in the air passage cools a succession of media, each media in succession is at a higher temperature than the one preceding it.

  • Publication number: 20100000475
Abstract: An arrangement for warming the oil in a gearbox in a vehicle powered by a combustion engine. A first pipe system with a first flow device which makes possible circulation of oil from the combustion engine through a heat exchanger. A second pipe system with a second flow device makes possible circulation of oil from the gearbox through the heat exchanger. A control device controls the flow devices so that flow of oil through the heat exchanger is obtained in situations in which the oil in the gearbox is at a too low temperature with respect to a desired temperature. The motor oil in the combustion engine can thus be used for heating the oil in the gearbox during cold starts of the combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 4552529
Abstract: To prevent the tube to a pressure measuring means from being blocked by solid material mobile in a pressure container, a small part of the clean pressure medium from a source of such medium is injected into the tube so that the tube is continuously purged with clean pressure medium. By locating the pressure medium input at a suitable position along the tube relative to the pressure measuring means, the desired purging of the tube is obtained without appreciably increasing the pressure in the tube, and thus minimizing possible errors in measurement of the pressure. If, for example, pressure medium is passed into a pressurized combustion chamber through a surrounding pressurized container, and the tube to the pressure-measuring means passes through said surrounding pressurized container, the clean pressure medium can be bled into the tube through a hole bored in the side of the tube within the pressurized container.
