  • Publication number: 20160300638
Abstract: An article and process are described. The article includes a conductive heat-recoverable composite shield or a conductive heat-recovered composite shield formed from a conductive heat-recoverable composite shield. The conductive composite shield and/or the conductive heat-recovered composite shield formed from a conductive heat-recoverable composite shield comprises a non-conductive matrix and conductive particles within the non-conductive matrix. The article has a resistivity of less than 0.05 ohm·cm. A process of producing the conductive heat-recovered composite shield includes extruding the conductive heat-recoverable composite shield and heating the conductive heat-recoverable composite shield thereby forming the conductive heat-recovered composite shield.

  • Patent number: 7786205
Abstract: A foamable copolymer based coupling is provided for securely affixing a light emitting glass lamp in a metal base to form a lamp assembly. The copolymer is preferably selected from ethylene vinyl acetate, ethylene methyl acrylate, and combinations thereof. The foamable coupling may be placed around one end of the glass lamp or in the lamp base before the lamp and base are matingly engaged. The assembled lamp is then heated to a temperature, which causes the foamable coupling to expand and securely affix the lamp in the base.

  • Publication number: 20050110767
Abstract: The present invention is directed to touch sensors with arrays of switches (e.g., diodes or transistors) that can be used to selectively apply voltage gradients across a resistive touch regions of the touch sensor substrate. Touches on the touch sensor can then be sensed by measuring the voltage at the touch location on the resistive touch region. The switch arrays take the form of strips of switches that can be cut from a prefabricated reel or a sheet and applied to the touchscreen substrate.

  • Patent number: 6458436
Abstract: Mineral fiber products, in particular rigid bonded mineral fiber products, are provided which comprise composite mineral fibers having a coating-core configuration wherein the core provides at least 90% by weight of the fibers and is formed of mineral melt and the coating is coated onto the core. The mineral melt is chosen so that the fibers without coating have adequate biological solubility and the coating comprises a phosphate or hydrogen phosphate of alkali metal, quaternary ammonium or ammonium in an amount of at least 0.3% or by weight of the core. The coated fibers retain their biological solubility while improving resistance to ageing in use.

  • Patent number: 6359226
Abstract: Applicants have created an improved device and method for protecting from the elements wires which have a portion of their electrically insulative covering stripped off, such as spliced wires, and particularly stub-spliced wires. The device comprises (a) a dimensionally-recoverable tubing, (b) a layer of sealant (which preferably also acts as an adhesive) applied to at least a portion of the interior surface of the tubing, and (c) a cap or sheath into which at least a portion of the exposed wires are inserted, wherein at least a portion of the cap or sheath is positioned interior to the dimensionally-recoverable tubing. The cap or sheath includes a configured interior shape for holding the inserted wires, and is designed to permit the adhesive/sealant to flow around the inserted wires. The cap or sheath typically forms a closure at one end of the dimensionally-recoverable tubing or is positioned at or adjacent to a closure end of the tubing.
