    Abstract: A method, and product from the method, of faceting a gemstone in which the facets, when combined with the polishing/non-polishing of the facet form an image such as the Star-of-David. The image is visible when viewed through the table of the gem. On one end of a clear or substantially clear gemstone, a series of facets are made which combine to create lines and boundaries. Through selective polishing of the facets, usually as they are made, some of the facets so created are darker and more visible than the others. These darker facets assist in forming the Star-of-David, or other image, visible through the table of the finished gemstone.

    Abstract: A method of forming a heat-recoverable article including the steps of profile extruding polymeric material into a predetermined shape, irradiating the polymeric material and then deforming the polymeric material into a generally planar configuration. Also disclosed is a heat-recoverable article including a generally planar layer of polymeric material which is in the heat unstable condition. Opposed surfaces of the polymeric material have a latent recovery stress, however opposite in sense, so that the article upon recovering towards a predetermined shape, exhibits substantially no residual stress. Further disclosed is a heat-recoverable article made by the method.

    Abstract: A card cage for housing a plurality of circuit boards and passive optical fiber couplers contains a tray for storing express optical fibers or express optical fiber tubes not to be coupled within the card cage but rather expressly routed through a distribution point accommodating the card cage. The tray has a flexible hinge thereon and means for keeping the tray passively deflected away from the optical couplers for facilitating insertion and removal of optical fibers into and from the couplers. A card cage housing snap fits to a card cage base without requiring screws or other physically detachable elements. The housing also includes a plurality of flexible deflectable clips integrally molded as part of the card cage housing which normally keep the circuit cards or boards within the card cage housing but which are deflectable so as to allow the boards to be slideably inserted and removed from channels within the housing for guiding the boards.

    Abstract: This invention provides a marker sleeve assembly comprising a series of flattened tubular recoverable marker sleeves held by at least one longitudinal carrier strip which holds the sleeves in fixed spaced apart relationship extending laterally from the strip. In a preferred embodiment, this invention provides a marker sleeve assembly which comprises a pair of parallel longitudinal carrier strips the inner edges of which have two layers with adhesive means on the inside facing surfaces of the two layers. The ends of the flattened tubular recoverable marker sleeves are positioned between the layers and held in position by the adhesive means on the inside surfaces of said layers of the carrier strips. The flattened marker sleeves are spaced apart whereby a portion of each adhesive means on the inside surface on each said layer of each carrier strip alternately engages the ends of the flattened marker sleeves and the opposing adhesive means on the opposing surface of the opposing layer of that carrier strip.

    Abstract: There is disclosed an ultrathin chemically resistant marking system. The system comprises at least one layer of a chemically resistant adhesive film and printed matter which together cooperate to form a marker. The adhesive film is made of a material selected from the group of polymers which adhere to a substrate upon the application of heat and which are resistant to caustic solutions and solvents, such as methylene chloride. The adhesive film has a chemically resistant front and rear surface and an adhesive rear surface for adhering to a substrate. One of the front or rear surfaces contains the printed matter. There is also disclosed a method for producing an ultrathin chemically resistant marking system.

    Abstract: A wraparound closure article comprising a slit tubular body having upstanding rails extending along the slit is formed by a combination of blow-and compression-moulding. The rails are formed by compressing a longitudinal edge portion of a parison between two parts of a closed split-mould to form a flange, and the tubular body is formed integrally with the rails by blowing the remainder of the parison into contact with the closed mould. The flange is then cut to provide the slit of the wraparound closure article and to divide the flange into two discrete rails. The slit extends along the pinch-line that forms as a result of compressing the edge portion of the parison in the closed mould.
