Patents by Inventor Ernest S. Kim

Ernest S. Kim has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 7968842
Abstract: The invention provides an interface assembly for delivering an ionized analyte from an ionization apparatus into an ion mobility spectrometer. This allows analysis of biological and non-biological samples, even non-volatile solids, via differential mobility spectrometry, without fragmentation of molecules. The invention also provides portable sample analysis systems that operate at ambient pressure. Systems of the invention may be used for high molecular weight species detection, for example, drinking water contaminants, pathogenic biological agents, bio-organic substances, non-biological material, peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, polymers, bacteria, and hydrocarbons.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 16, 2008
Date of Patent: June 28, 2011
Assignee: The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc.
Inventors: Angela M. Zapata, Ernest S. Kim, Priya Agrawal, Melissa D. Krebs, Cristina E. Davis
  • Publication number: 20100323916
Abstract: In one embodiment, a high-throughput flow system includes an array of wells and a separate mechanical tip positioned within each well. Each mechanical tip is separately actuated to impart a shear stress pattern.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 14, 2010
    Publication date: December 23, 2010
Inventors: Guillermo Garcia-Cardena, Peter Mack, Jeffrey T. Borenstein, Ahmad S. Khalil, Eli J. Weinberg, Jason O. Fiering, Ernest S. Kim, William J. Adam, JR.
  • Publication number: 20090234332
Abstract: Artificial microvascular devices may include a polymer scaffold that defines a channel with a distensible wall.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 5, 2009
    Publication date: September 17, 2009
Applicant: The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc
