  • Patent number: 6167686
Abstract: A chain or belt tensioner is provided in a header for a harvester having a pair of rollers, each supported on separate pivot arms and engagable with the slack and taut strands of the chain or belt. The pivot arms are mounted about a common pivot and are spring biased into engagement with the chain or belt by a common spring. When the drive direction is reversed, the normally slack side of the chain becomes taut and assumes a straight-line position between the sprockets or sheaves. The pivot arms will rotate about the pivot and the pivot arm on the strand that has now become slack will rotate to tension the slack strand. The biasing spring coupled to the two pivot arms biases the rollers against the two strands of the chain and provides a fixed tensioning force on the chain that does not require adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5369981
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the continuous determination of the dust content of flowing media with the isokinetic flow sampling with the separation of the dust or aerosols by cake filtration on a filter and the measurement of the pressure drop at the filter to determine its degree of clogging. To this end the time cycle of the quantity of dust separated on the filter is determined by the measurement of the pressure loss at the filter of an isokinetically operating sampling system. To find the dust load, this quantity of dust is related to the partial quantity of gas extracted isokinetically during the period concerned.

  • Patent number: 4932933
Abstract: In a centrifuge device whose purpose is in particular the separation of amalgam from waste water generated in dentist' offices, the following is provided in order to improve the determination of the filling level in a collecting tank downstream from a centrifuge, to obtain better utilization of the container volume, to reduce the residual moisture in the separated solids, and to simultaneously eliminate the repumping means which operate between the collecting tank and the centrifugal. The collecting tank is detachably attached to a centrifuge drum and rotates together with the centrifuge, with measures being taken for separating the clean-water space from the centrifuge drum, there is also provided a transport container which can be detached from the device together with a collecting tank, which container can, when the collecting tank is in it, be closed by means of a cover which, when it is not in use, is detachably attached to the transport container.

  • Patent number: 4871147
Abstract: An apparatus is described which serves for a pyrometallurgical processing of fine-grained solids suspended in high-oxygen gases, comprising a generally horizontally extending cylindrical vessel and a combustion shaft, which communicates with and vertically opens into the vessel which is provided with a gas outlet opening and with an opening for discharging molten material. An almost complete separation of the molten particles is effected in that the mouth of the combustion shaft tangentially opens into the vessel at the entrance of a spiral-shaped entrance passage, which opens into a discharge slot, which is formed in the shell of the vessel and which in the lower portion of the shell of the substantially cylindrical vessel extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 4763843
Abstract: An oil burner for heating systems includes an atomizer nozzle placed in or connected to an oil feed pipe and a shutoff element is arranged in the oil feed pipe which has a blocking element which can be moved by the inflowing oil, within limits. The blocking element or a part adjacent the oil flow conduit are formed either entirely or partially from a permanent magnet and one can be moved into the closed position by its magnetic force to reliably prevent dripping of the oil from the atomizer nozzle after completion of a combustion process.

  • Patent number: 4486198
Abstract: Navy dye mixtures essentially contain dyes of the formula I ##STR1## where X is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine, the radicals R.sup.1 independently of one another are each methyl or ethyl and R is a radical of the formula ##STR2## where A is ##STR3## B is unsubstituted or substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, phenoxy-C.sub.2 - or -C.sub.3 -alkyl or cyclohexyl and R.sup.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, the mixtures containing from 20 to 80 parts of dyes in which R is NH-A-COOB and from 80 to 20 parts of dyes in which R is ##STR4## The novel mixtures are very useful for dyeing synthetic polyesters, and give dyeings which have, in particular, very good heatfastness.
